Lovely apartment situated in the popular coastal village of Hopeman near Elgin, Morayshire.
It consists of a bed/sitting room, kitchen/dining room and a shower/wc.
5 minutes walk from beautiful sandy beaches.
It is 2 nights minimum stay.

Sleeps 2 (+2 in sofa bed in same room)

The space
Our welcoming home was the original school in Hopeman, dating around early 1800's. The apartment was the first classroom and is one of the oldest buildings in Hopeman. The village was started by fisherman who travelled along the coast from Ardersier, near Inverness.

The apartment is a tastefully decorated in simple Swedish style. It has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room over looking our colourful garden. The bed/sitting room, with wet room we off offers an extremely comfortable (so our guests say!) double bed but also a small sofa bed which could easily accommodate 2 children at £10 extra per person. We can also provide a travel cot for babies/infants. There is a little 'starter food/breakfast' but there are a few shops nearby for your needs.
It has a separate entrance from our accommodate so guests are free to come and go at their leisure.

Location

Hopeman, Morayshire, United Kingdom

Hopeman is a small friendly village on the Moray Coast Trail situated 6 miles from the Cathedral City of Elgin. 1 hour from Inverness and just under 2 hours from Aberdeen. With its beautiful sandy beaches and hidden coves within walking distance, it really is quite a gem! There are cycle/walking paths to the neighbouring villages of Duffus with it's castle ruins and Burghead - the latter being of particular interest to historians as it was built upon a Pictish Fort. The former is also home to GORDONSTOUN SCHOOL - therefore our apartment offers a handy bolt hole for leave out weekends, prospective pupils weekends or even for the interview candidate.
Burghead has a working harbour where there are still number of fishing boats is a photographers' delight. Burghead has a visitors centre on the headland which has a fascinating look into the Picts, the annual, world famous 'burning of the Claivie and of course the history of the fishing industry in bygone days.

Cycling/walking woods and forests are only 5 minutes drive/20 minutes cycle. Lossiemouth to the East has a water sports activity centre and is a surfing paradise for the active tourist. We are surrounded in golf courses -Hopeman, the Championship course of Moray (in Lossiemouth) and Nairn are all within 40minutes drive.

The coastal trial is a joy to behold and a stroll to catch the evening sunset could even provide DOLPHINS. The Moray Firth is home to the fun loving bottle nose dolphins and these can often be seen near the shore on a calm day. Along the coastal path towards Lossiemouth offers the incredible site of little coves and bays with their many natural stacks. These are home to the
Elegant Fulmer - a joy to see in its glided flight.

Those interested in a 'dram' will not be disappointed! There are numerous distilleries to choose from in Moray and its neighbours. This is big whisky country!

Hopeman holds a large annual gala in July which is one of the longest in Scotland - held over one week and offers activities for 0-90 year olds and holiday makers and villagers alike plan their annual leave around the dates.

We look forward to giving you a warm, friendly, welcome!
