Sparkling clean3 recent guests have said that this home was sparkling clean.
Great check-in experience100% of recent guests gave this home’s check-in process a 5-star rating.

Private estate surrounded by rainforest with luxurious accommodations. Includes secluded 20 acre property; main house, 4 cottages, WiFi,cell, rainforest, meadow, orchard, avos, bananas, ocean views and 1.2 mile nature trail. Very close to many attractions and only 4 miles from Pahoa town.

Our property is 3 miles uphill from the lava flow. We are very safe at our elevation and it's a great place to see the lava reddened sky at night.

AMAZING as always! I’ve been hosting retreats at the Puna Rainforest Retreat space for 1.5 years now and am continuously blown away with the upkeep of the property and hospitality from the owner, Jacklynn before, during, and after my stay. I highly recommend this space to anyon…

While the property is beautiful and well maintained be very careful. There is a deep and extremely dangerous drop off directly off of the main driveway to the house. It is located just a few steps off the driveway in the forest at the intersection to the cottages. I feel there sh…

Response from Jacklynn:
After 20 stellar 5 star reviews for the Estate this is our first imperfect review. We are not surprised because the guests were rude, aggressively broke the automatic gate and other items including broken toilet (not sure how that happens), broke 5 screens, and even carved graffiti in a bathroom door window. They didn't bother to tell us about any of this either. They were so unfriendly that we did not approach them about these issues. They literally turned their backs when they saw us! Their complaints are mean spirited and inaccurate. For example, we instructed them by email how to turn on boost water heater (normal heating is solar) so water was only cold if they chose to not flick switch. The "construction" was 1000 feet away, hidden in forest and was a husband/wife project building a 6X10 shed. Trucks coming and going constantly refers to our little pickup coming and going once a day except one day when one load of soil was delivered. It gets dark at 6 so we stopped then (no power there) and were on the lower property only half the days of the 2 week reservation. This was the longest reservation we've had. Usually, we are able to maintain pool and perform yard work between reservations but with this long of reservation we had to keep up with maintenance tasks. We tried to mow when they were gone but they were upset to see us at all, ignoring us, scowling while we cleaned the pool, and treating our staff like they shouldn't be there. No work was performed on the 5 houses during their stay. We kept our distance and were walking on eggshells while on our own property. We felt very unwelcome. When estate guests ask for privacy for weddings, retreats, etc. we always clear out but these folks told us they didn't want us coming to the property for 2 weeks. This is very strange behavior that we are not accustomed to and was a first for us because all our guests have been so friendly and kind...I suppose not everyone understands Aloha. On another note, concern about drop off at driveway is valid. We have already fenced off other cave entrances but one remains that we now feel compelled to address. We inform guests of this safety hazard and include information at the house that explains this. We are building a gate in front of the drop off because we like to crawl down there and explore the caves. Guests are not encouraged to go spelunking and a gate would make the drop off much safer. We are disappointed to receive our first imperfect review but confident it is not accurate or representative. 😉

We rented the entire estate for our wedding. At the time we were unsure if the number of guests. After we got confirmations from guests, we didn’t need the entire property and Jacklynn refunded us the money for the cottages/nights that didn’t need. The process was smooth and pain…

This land is special and Jacklynn was amazingly helpful before and during as we navigated this booking with a big group of us. It is private, quiet, amazing stars at night, a lovely breeze and a perfect place for a large group. We only wish there were more cottages on the pro…

The estate is so beautiful! Jacklynn has thought of everything to make the guests feel at home! We had a large family vacation, and we had more than enough space between the main house and all four of the cottages. The location is not ideal for touristy activities, but the …

The place was amazing! We rented the main house and all 4 cottages for a family reunion. It was wonderful! The kids loved the pool! Lots of room to cook and eat all together. So many positives about this place!
