Built in the 1950's, Sangha is a classic blend of glass and brick, with an abundance of natural light surrounded by private gardens. It's a perfect oasis offering all the comforts of home whether you're coming to experience the majesty of the National Parks, or wanting to be walking distance from the College of the Sequoias, the business center and hospital, or the hub of restaurants and stores in Visalia's downtown.

The space

We have created an eco-friendly, healthy and conscious community. At times we're in a lower apartment that's off the main house. This is also available for rent should you and your party want more space. While we're not always in Visalia, we love connection and giving you the feel of "Home away from Home". Enjoy our cozy and peaceful atmosphere where open, light-filled spaces welcome you both inside and out. In recognition of our limited water resources, thank you for being patient as we transform the front and back gardens into drought tolerant landscapes.

Interaction with guests

Chuck, a local Visalian, and Niki, originally from Austria (in US 20 years) split their time between this house and living in Topanga, LA area. Always happy to connect, invite and learn from others around the country and world. We are happy to share and interact when there, and are always available over phone/text/email if questions come up should we not be around.

We had a 2 night stay at Chuck's place and our group had a wonderfully, relaxing stay. Chuck was there to welcome us when we arrived and led us around his beautiful house that was very spacious and full of character. He was very conscientious and provided us with everything we needed, towels, toothbrushes and the most comfortable beds. We had a bit of trouble working the shower, but Chuck came to the rescue mere minutes after messaging him. We were mostly out during the day and evening visiting the nearby Sequoia National Park, we took the convenient shuttlebus that stopped a 20 minute walk from Chuck's place (and Chuck even offered to drive us there). There are various restaurants nearby, we ate at the Brewbakers and had a great experience there. Chuck himself was very kind and attentive (offering to make us coffee in the morning) which we really appreciated and made us feel like we were at home. Thank you so much - and all the best with your permaculture project.

Chuck was responsive and attentive whenever we messaged. The house itself is about 1 hour away from the Sequoia National Park entrance about 2 hours total from the Giant Forrest Museum within the park. The house suited our needs for the weekend: comfortable beds, working kitchen, safe location.

Chuck and Nikki are great hosts with a lovely property not very far from Visalia downtown. Great place to stay and a warm welcoming couple.

Staying in Chuck and Niki's beautiful space was the perfect gateway for my adventures into the Sequoia and King's Canyon Parks... Quiet, peaceful, restful... It was really sweet having the place to myself for a couple of nights, and doubly sweet to meet and hang out with them before I took off! They were lovely and warm. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area :)

Chuck was out of town when we visited, But he made sure we can check in and out with ease. Kristine, the care person looking after the house, was great very responsive and friendly and know the house. I would come and stay at Visalia again.

Chuck was very nice, and helpful in getting us settled in to his place. The room we stayed in was very minimal, and there was no air conditioning on a very hot day, but Chuck did have a fan available which helped. The room could certainly use a bit of an aesthetic touch - , but the rest of the house is perfectly acceptable. Chuck was very helpful in giving us suggestions of places to eat and spots in the neighborhood. It was a pleasant enough stay.
