Le Petit Meigné is a charming, split level, fully renovated former 17th c village forge located on a terraced, landscaped garden. Downstairs there is a living room, kitchenette, dining nook and bathroom. The upstairs loft bedroom has a double bed.
We have created a comfortable 40 m2 interior living space with all the modern amenities that you need and yet have kept the old world charm. On the 20 m2 terrace there are armchairs as well as a parasol covered dining table and chairs to serve as your al fresco living and dining space. This is the perfect place to return to and have a glass of wine after touring the many riches of the Loire Valley. If you are looking for a quiet, private, relaxing vacation get away you may have found it!
Interaction with guests
When you arrive at Le Petit Meigné you will be greeted and given a quick tour of the house and property after which you will be left alone to start your vacation. We live about 1 minute away from the cottage so we are always available to answer your questions.
We want you to feel at home and will give you as much privacy as possible but you will see us maintaining the garden from time to time.
We have hosted 100s of guests over the past several years and have endeavored to create a healing place to "recharge your batteries".
By the way we both speak English and French.
Other things to note
One thing to note is that the loft bedroom has a sloped ceiling measuring 100cm to 300cm. Guests measuring over 190cm have not found this to present a problem.
The sofa downstairs coverts into a double bed so 2 guests traveling together that do not normally share a bed can easily be accommodated.
This is a self catering cottage. We will supply you with the basics but you will need bring food and drink to enjoy during your stay.
We have (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Chrome Cast available for your use if you would like to cast programming like NETFLIX to the flat screen TV.
Merci de noter qu'il s'agit d'un espace non-fumeur. Nous aimons les animaux mais ils ne sont pas acceptés dans cette propriété. Nous apprécions que les visiteurs quittent le Petit Meigné dans l'état où ils le trouvent.
Former General Manager of California Bay Area restaurants I acquired this property in the Loire Valley in 2000 and have lived here part time ever since. In 2005 we converted the former 17th century village blacksmith forge into a 2 person gîte and have had the pleasure of hosting 100s of guests from all over the world ever since. I try to be available for my guests throughout their stay while giving them the privacy that they deserve.
I enjoy traveling therefore I do my best to create a space at which I would enjoy staying. Other interests include good food, good wine, good books, good conversations, working out and, of course, gardening.
When I'm not in residence in France the co-owner, Erick Ciraud, is available to receive our guests.
