Do you prefer to be "away from it all," yet be near performance theaters, museums, state parks, and much more? Would you like an on-site co-host nearby when needed? Then this cottage is for you! Come in, relax peacefully in our bright, airy, cozy cottage.
1100 sq. ft., Lots of natural light. The full kitchen and living room have an open layout. A glass, back door opens onto the shady patio deck, which is surrounded by trees and views a brook. There are windows on each side of the house, which allow for lovely cross-breezes when the windows are open.
Two skylights fill the house with lovely light. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The cottage has a dedicated WiFi (password provided) and a TV with USB port. Bring a chrome cast, or apple TV if needed. Cable is not provided. Note that since the cottage is in a remote area with mountatins all around the WIFI has a personality of it's own. Sometimes we can stream two movies in a row with no problem. Sometimes we can't get on. Just for you to know.
Pillows, sheets, towels, blankets and comforters are provided.
Nearest convenience store is 10 minutes away.
The cozy cottage is completely for yourselves. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, sink, dishwasher, toaster, blender, and drip coffee maker. The cabinets are stocked with dishes, pots and pans and utensils. A continental breakfast is available through the Berkshire Valley Inn, which includes fresh coffee, baked goods, fruit, and cereal. We share parking with our neighbor and there is space for two cars to the left of the shed.
Interaction with guests
Renee is the proprietor of the Berkshire Valley Inn, (about 1000 feet down our driveway) and is your host. She will provide keys, check-in, cleaning, towels, linens. Renee shares the Inn's pool, and hosts a campfire most nights. She serves a great continental breakfast at the inn, and knows everything about the area. Be sure to call to coordinate your check-in-time.
Other things to note
While there is no central air, there is one bedroom window with an air conditioner, which easily cools the cottage. The living room and other bedroom have ceiling fans. Evenings in the mountains are usually cool.
The indoor fireplace is currently not available for use. The fireplace shown in the photos is currently not a working fireplace.
However, the Bershire Valley Inn, often has a outside fire behind the pool based on the number of folks staying at the Inn. Ask when you check in .
There is a great heating system. with a standard Honeywell thermostat control
