Moms' Beach House will closing November 1, 2017 for renovations and expansion. Check back in the spring of 2018 for summer availability.

The house is a third row family vacation home which we share part time with others. Enjoy the sounds and view of the ocean from the sheltered porch, take a short walk to the beach or use our beach cruisers to explore the island.

The space

Moms' Beach House is elevated on pylons and accessible by a staircase. The master bedroom has a comfortable king bed, television and private bathroom. The guest room has a queen bed, and the bunk room has a queen bed and a set of twin bunks.

The kitchen opens into the living area, is well-equipped and has space for two cooks. We have coffee makers (drip and Keurig), blenders, plenty of dishes and kitchen tools. You are welcome to use any salt, pepper and spices you find in the cabinet and condiments from in the refrigerator.

The deep, covered porch faces the beach to the south and is the perfect spot for morning coffee. The porch receives morning sun but is protected on the west side from the afternoon sun. It is sunny in the winter, but shaded in the summer. There are chairs and rocking chairs and a table and benches if you care to eat al fresco.

Guest access

The entire house is available for your use, though we ask if you use our personal supplies (band-aids from the medicine cabinet, sunscreen, or the last of the sugar and salt for example) you replace anything you use up.

Interaction with guests

We will provide you a code to the lock box to access a key. We live 3 hours away, but are available by phone or text to assist or advise you.

Our house manager lives on the island and will stop by to greet you early in your visit and be available if you have any needs we can't address from afar. She will follow up with us after you check out and authorize the return of your security deposit.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Look no further. Safe, comfortable, and beautiful. Our favorite features were the porch and the lower level outdoor shower.

What a wonderful beach house. Very comfortable and homey feeling. The house had everything we needed and then some. Getting to the beach was an easy short walk and access to the bicycles made the stay most enjoyable. It was safe to bike everywhere including the local farmer's market, up and down the island, and even up on the main road. One of our favorite pastimes was sitting on the covered porch in the rocking chairs and just chillaxing with an adult beverage. We noticed not a lot of houses had a covered porch. This sounds like a small detail but it was a big hit with us. This was our first visit to Oak Island and we fell in love with it. definitely will try to stay at Moms' Beach House next visit.

We had a great week; the house was comfortable and clean and well stocked! Patricia was very helpful with any questions that we had. We used the bikes to explore the island and to grab a coffee in the morning. The porch was the best place to both start and end the day. We basically lived on the porch; enjoying meals, drinks, the stars and always the ocean breezes. The beach is a 3 minute walk and there are several restaurants on the island . But don't forget to go into Southport which was a quick 10 min drive. We enjoyed Oak Island and Mamas Beach House and hope to return.

We had a wonderful time! We loved how close the house was to the ocean. The house was very well-equipped and felt like home. We especially loved being able to use the beach equipment (cart, umbrella, etc.).

What a great place! Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home. A great location, the home had everything we needed, and a warm atmosphere inside, and out on the porch! Thanks again!

It was a great house super cute and comfortable. It was only a block from the beach which was perfect! You can feel the ocean breeze right on the porch to sit back and relax. Lovely home, we had a great time, and would highly recommend.
