Beautiful rustic cabin suited to those who want to escape & disconnect. Built in the rain forest, next to a crystal clear creek in a 50 acre property. Electricity, computer, phone free environment, only candle light & nature. 12min drive from Eumundi. When staying at the cabin you will be totally alone with the rain forest, no traffic or neighbours. As a host I settle you in and then unless needed your left to it to enjoy the space, time, quietness on your own. This place is unique.

The space

The cabin provides a wonderous space within a wooden shell that melts effortlessly into the surrounds of the natural environment. It's beautifully hand crafted in corrugated iron and recycled wood with a mezzanine double bed accessed by a ladder, and a single day bed. A wonderland of hand crafted furniture, second hand finds and treasures from our travels. Set amongst the trees, cool and mozzy screened for the summer and a crackling fire in the winter. Compost toilet close by and enjoy a hot/cold outdoor shower. Solar fridge for your drinks and food. Beauty, peacefulness, solitude all in one magical setting. Simple living for those who love the outdoors and nature. This place is unique.

Guest access

In the Noosa hinterland, 12 minutes from Eumundi. The cabin is on a 50 acre property, a 1.5km drive from the main road and then a 600 m steep driveway of dirt road. Due to the uniqueness of the Cabin and its location you walk down a 150 m grassy path to the creek where the cabin is situated. An adventure in it's self. Special places are always hidden away.

Interaction with guests

During the stay, guests can lay back and relax or we can provide them with the best recommendations of places to go and things to do , like hiking, mountain biking, surfing, visiting nearby secret waterfalls, etc

Other things to note

The money we receive for the Cabin goes straight back into the property /environment for weed control, planting, re-generation.

Such a beautiful spot and a delightful little cabin with everything you could need. Ideal for a getaway with yourself or your special someone. Cathy and Carlos were very welcoming and Loopy the dog was an instant favourite.

Just beautiful, quirky and every little detail was done with such care and attention. From the eco friendly toiletries to the numerous candles, fluffy robes and mountains of fire wood. Add that to stunning views, a great creek/billabong hike and nothing to hear but bird calls. Such a relaxing and peaceful space that I really did not want to leave.

To say Cathy's and Carlos's cabin is absolutely magical would be an understatement. They have created a heavenly space lodged between the forest that is unique and beautiful and, best of all, 100% environmentally friendly. Their deep respect for nature is represented in every way throughout the little cabin, but also is their great taste for antiques and second-hand furniture. We wanted a quiet, tech-free, relaxing weekend and that's exactly what we got; except for the birds singing in the morning as the day light woke us up (which was AMAZING). Everything from the outdoor shower to the fireplace is incredible, and I can't recommend their cabin highly enough! Cathy, Carlos, and Lupita (their tiny playful dog) are amazing hosts and were very helpful the entire time we were there. Noosa is a mere 25 minute drive and has amazing beaches, while Eumundi, although small, has the most amazing coffee, a great Saturday Market, and a charming bookstore filled with old and new books. Overall this was one of the greatest trips we've ever made, looking forward to coming back some time soon!

I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 20years and as a child spent many holidays enjoying the beach, I know the area well. I have a love of the outdoors, beach, surfing and bike riding. Trained as a registered nurse, I have a creative side and a special interest in health and nutrition. Lover of animals and nature, I share this environment with my partner, our dog and free ranging chickens. Our property is on 50acre we've kept it natural, no farming and spend a lot of our time with weed control, planting/revegetation of the area back to its natural state. Our beautiful cabin is situated down at our creek amongst the trees. Its a walk down to the site and a walk out. Best to keep your carry bag light and bring some sand shoes or hiking boots to explore the area. We live a very simple life, currently residing in a open plan shed (while preparing to build our house) with our love of colour, wood and texture. I hope for people to enjoy the simplicity of there time here and have a break from daily living. No electricity, no internet, no phone reception just nature and the beauty of our property. During your stay you can cook simple food on the gas burner and cool your drinks on ice in the esky provided. Enjoy long cups of tea, the trees, birds, the running creek and if you decide to walk up from the cabin in the late afternoon the beautiful sunsets.
