Cheery suite with private entrance, consisting of bedroom, attached private screen porch & private full bathroom. Entirely separated from rest of house. Did I mention it's very private? 1.6 mi. from downtown. Fridge, electric kettle, two bikes for guest use, all-organic breakfast (coffee, hot donuts, fruit) included. Access to walking trails along Rivanna River just a few blocks away.

The space

The feel of our house is woodsy cottage. Our house is steps away from access to the Rivanna Trail Network which encircles Charlottesville. It's also a beautiful 30 minute tree-lined walk to Downtown, or a fifteen minute bike ride. Two bicycles are available for use. The room has a queen bed. Most importantly, our family business is organic DONUTS which means complimentary hot coffee and donuts every morning for our guests. The house is on a cul-de-sac in a residential neighborhood. Ample street parking. The screen porch connects with the bedroom, and has a table, games, a ceiling fan, and comfy chairs. The connected and private full bathroom has a shower but no bath. There is an electric kettle and small refrigerator in the room, ironing board/iron. Towels, sheets, and dishware/utensils provided. Sheets are 100% cotton. Maximum occupancy: 2 persons (Couple with small child is fine)

Guest access

Guests have access to private room with private entrance, bathroom, and screen porch.

Interaction with guests

Hosts will be available, but not in your space or way. Your space is all yours. We love meeting new people, and don't mind the sounds of talking and laughter in the least. No need to tiptoe around! If you need to use something not available in the guest suite (cutting board, ouija board or any other household item), just ask -- we'll be sincerely happy to make it available. We're also happy to give recommendations on restaurants, parks, trails, etc.

Other things to note

If you have a group, and want additional accommodations in the same neighborhood, I have two neighbors whom I know well, who have LOVELY airbnb rooms right across the street. I'm happy to share their info.

We own two dogs. They do not have access to the guest quarters or yard section adjoining guest quarters. It's possible you will hear them barking although we do our best to keep them quiet when guests are here.

We are an active family with friends coming and going so during the day you may hear us going about our life, but we are generally quiet after 9pm. We are not bothered by late night arrivals or talk/laughter in the guest suite.

Jen made us feel very welcome . she & her husband were very warm & friendly .The room is attached to the main house ( very clean & tidy ), with a quaint attached screened in porch . Jen served us fresh donuts & coffee out on the porch in the morning , fantastic . truly felt like I was in the U S of A ! Location was perfect in a quiet neighbourhood .

My husband and I stayed here on our way through Charlottelsville. It's in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown. Jen was a great host in every sense. We would stay here again.

Loved borrowing bikes after being on the road all day! Took an Uber downtown but we walked back under a full moon. Charlottesville is wonderful! Jen gave great tips for eating out. The coffee, donuts and fruit were a nice touch.

Nice quiet spot, not far from Monticello. Jen is a very friendly and sweet hostess, brought donuts to die for and coffee in am.

A wonderful room that feels like you're in the woods! Jen was a terrific host, and the donuts are so much better than you can imagine. The screen porch is the perfect place to unwind after a long day. The room comes stocked with tea, a kettle, dinnerware, and a small fridge, as well as a nice set of shelves and hangers so you don't have to live out of your suitcase. If the screen porch isn't for you, the comfortable reading chair in the room is great for putting your feet up. The house is close enough to downtown for a nice morning walk in (it's about 2 miles), but far enough to give some distance when you need a break. I took Lyfts back in the evening, because Charlottesville is pleasantly dark at night! Will definitely stay here again, the next time I'm in Charlottesville.

If you are looking for something cozy and romantic, this is it! My boyfriend and I were in Charlottesville just for the weekend and decided to book this bnb for two nights and we just loved it. The room is cute and cozy and has a lot of character. We were so excited for the warm donuts, especially after the first morning. There is a great trail for biking and running along a nearby river too. An Uber trip to the Downtown Mall only cost us between $7-$9. This accommodation was way more than we expected! <3

I'm a writer, my husband is a professional foodie - running a little organic donut business here in C-ville. We have three kids -- one every six years whether we need one or not. We have more books than shelves, more ideas than time, and more mint then garden. For the moment, we are enjoying living vicariously through other people's wild travel adventures, and look forward to hosting folks from near and far. We love talking history, politics, science, theatre, books and bratwurst; and playing pick-up games of four-square in the street.
