If you like hiking, walking or simply discovering new places, this is the right place for you as the location is great, you can get easily to Wicklow, Glendalough and Sugarloaf Mountains or simple stay in the lovely and quiet Bray.

There are many ways to get to Bray from Dublin City Centre, you can get the Dart or the bus 145. From the Airport, there is an Air coach which leaves every hour and stops at Superquinn, Castle street from here to the house is approximately 30 minutes walking.

Bray is an ideal spot from which to explore the east coast of Ireland. The Dart train system travels along the coast from Howth to Greystones and guests can take day trips along this line, hopping off at the beautiful village of Dalkey, visiting the famous 40 foot swimming area and the James Joyce Tower in Sandycove (where the opening lines of Ulysses were set), and onwards along the coast to the fishing town of Howth. The Dart train line is a ten minute bus journey away, or a 25/30 minute walk from the house.

Dublin City Centre is well worth a visit with its famous book of Kells housed in Trinity College, its Chester Beatty Library and grand Georgian squares. Dublin is a 50 minute bus journey away, and buses a 2 minute walk from the house and run every ten to fifteen minutes.

Wicklow is called the Garden of Ireland and contains the magnificent Powerscourt House, Glendalough and Enniskerry. The town of Bray itself boasts a Victorian promenade and many seaside attractions. A funfair visits every summer! There is a famous cliff walk from Bray to the neighbouring village of Greystones, where walkers often lunch, catching the Dart train back to Bray.

Áine and John are fantastic hosts! We felt very welcome from the first moment. John even picked us up from the train station and Áine had tea and snacks ready at the house. The house is very well-equipped with a bathroom set (towels, shower gel, cream, hair dryer, ...) for guests and there are lots of brochures about tourist attractions available. But even more valuable were John's and Áine's personal recommendations and tips (both for Bray and Dublin). They were extremely helpful throughout our stay.

This is an excellent place to stay, especially if you want to experience Ireland like a local. John and Aine love to spend time with their guests (if you so choose) and to share stories and insights to life in Bray. They are very hospitable and were always available to answer questions. My friend and I stayed here with the intent of spending a lot of time in Dublin but we found that we really enjoyed our time in Bray as well. John and Aine's house is locates very close to the beach which has a lively promenade of shops and restaurants to fuel up while spending time by the water. All the food we tried in this town was excellent. I definitely recommend this airbnb for your stay!
