Our weekend at kokkelikoo was just wonderful. It's a beautifully decorated, spacious apartment with a comfy bed, great shower, lovely breakfast in the morning and lounge area with TV to relax after a long day walking at beach. The welcoming of Veerles two daughters was very warm and welcoming. As soon as we arrived we walked the 15 min to the beach through the nice pathway that leads towards the beach. Blankenberge has a few high rises right at the beach, but a little further with the tram you can walk along dunes and sea for an hour to De Haan and just take the tram back. The nicely renovated farmhouse is very quite and peaceful. We highly recommend this b&b to everyone. We will come back and bring our bikes to explore the nice routes that start directly around the corner (bike route to Lissewege/Brugge).

The listing information and pictures was very good but in reality the restoration of this old farm-house is 5-star with a huge bedroom, lovely wet-room and comfortable sitting-dining room. The location is 20 minutes walk to the excellent beaches and a 20 minute easy drive to Brugge or Knokke. Blankenberge has many restaurants and others are in the surrounding villages. We were made to feel very welcome as part of the family yet given our own privacy in this annexe attached to the main house. Veerle or her daughter Trees made us lovely breakfasts and made sure we had all we needed for a pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

My family (my mother and adult sister) and I had a lovely weekend here, spending one night at Veerle and Jacques' place. The place is newly done up and very cosy. Breakfast was so luxurious! We appreciated the privacy of our own "wing" adjacent to the family home. Walking to the beach took 10 minutes. The pretty white village of Lisserberge was a five minute drive away, and we were spoilt for choice of restaurants there. The morning of our departure Veerle was very relaxed about our departure time and we were glad to be able to keep the room until after a last walk on the beach. On leaving, we visited Bruges, which is fifteen minutes away by car. I live in Brussels and have visited this part of Flanders a few times; I would thoroughly recommend staying at Veerle's place as a quiet, beautiful, good-value alternative to more touristy, expensive options in both Bruges and the coastal towns.

We were met at the door and warmly welcomed and given a tour to explain where everything was and arrangements for breakfast. An incorrect assumption on my part on sleeping arrangements meant that an extra foldaway bed was needed and this was arranged and set up without delay. The main bed was possibly too comfortable and with the quiet location my son slept until noon one day. As we were only people staying we had exclusive use of the lounge/breakfast room which was a bonus but then again sharing breakfast with strangers can enrich a break. A good selection of local guides in English were provided and some less obvious places to visit were mentioned too. When we walked down to catch the costal tram one evening and the weather turned to heavy rain and thunderstoms knowing that our car was parked outside the property messages were sent advising us of local cab numbers if we needed to abandon public transport for our return. You can walk to the tram and beach as well but other attractions and sites probably require a car or bikes.

We spent four days at that lovely B&B and had a great time. Everything's still very new: The bedroom is rather large and cosy, there's a common room for all guests where we had a very tasty and diversified breakfast. That room even had a small lounge and a TV. And then there's the bathroom with everything you need but first and foremost with the best and most comfortable shower I ever had the luck to use. The hosts were very friendly and even had information about interesting trips and undertakings in the area. Hartelijk dank voor de gastvrijheid!

KOKKELIKOO was the best place to complete our 6week holidays! we spend nearly one week in this comfortable B&B and loved it very much. it's the perfect place to go on the beach (aprox. 15 minutes to walk) or visit Brugge (20 minutes by car). Veerle & Jacques have rebuild an old farm- so the large rooms have chic country style. we enjoyed this warm & homely athmosphere very much & our one year old daughter loved the trustingly dog pippa, the cats & horses! in front of the room is a great living room, so that we had more an appartment as only a room. Veerle & Jacques are lovely hosts as well. they helped us whenever we've needed & let us in on the secret of belgium beers:) we will miss the delicious breakfast with daily special offers & the home-grown salad very much!

Een fantastisch verblijf in een gastvrije locatie. Super moderne kamer in de perfecte locatie voor strand, natuur, cultuur en Brugge. En dat allemaal op de fietsen die je gratis mag gebruiken. Echt super!
