Our Ecolodge in Tafedna, between Essaouira and Agadir, is a place to come and feel at home roght away. Once you experience the sunset from our amazing Terrace you will never want to leave again. Our Tent "Zerka" will offer you an unforgettable stay !

The space

L'Ane Vert is the newest Eco lodge on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, 60 km south of Essaouira. When you visit us you experience a different kind of Moroccan holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech and right in the heart of the Berber countryside. You can come and relax on the deserted beach, fill up on delicious treats in our fusion restaurant or even give us a hand to continue the progress of the lodge (for the more motivated holiday-goers!)
We offer an alternative style of tourism and holiday and work directly with the locals to encourage cultural exchange between Europe and Morocco. We also run a non profit association that organises beach cleanings, sells argan oil for the local women and hosts an Artist Residency program twice a year.

If you are looking for a truly unique holiday come and visit L´Âne Vert, where the sun really is shining 355 days of the year!

Guest access

Guests have full access to a beautiful and mostly deserted beach. We have surf boards for hire and offer surf lessons at modest rates.
There is a fusion restaurant and tapas bar that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and all in between.
There are beautiful hikes around the area and you can pack a picnic and spend the day wondering around the Berber country side, seeing many sights that most tourists don´t get to experience.
We don't have Wifi, but can organise internet if desperately needed.
We believe is the perfect chance to give yourself a break from technology and really enjoy your holidays away from that screen!

We spend two nights at l'ane vert and had a good experience. Tafedna is absolutely gorgeous and a great place to unwind. The lodge and camp are well organized, the staff is bubbly and helpful and sleeping in a tent of course has a romantic quality to it. Apart from the location which is breathtaking it is the food why I would come back to L'ane vert as it is sublime and deserves a star of its own :) The lodge has a bohemian feel to it, in part due to the young surfer crowd and international volunteers that work behind the bar. But, as we came without a car, for us two days were enough as there were moments where we didn't feel like hanging out with the other guests. Something which is welcomed by the nature of the place and thus difficult to get around. My only point of real criticism would be that the music played tends to repeat quite often. And even though I love Nicolas Jaar, some more diversity - or more tracks - would be appreciated. Especially since the music goes on until late and can be heard in the tents as well.

It was a truly unique experience at L'Ane Vert. We really enjoyed our stay there! We loved how they take food so seriously, the food there was absolutely amazing. We loved our walks to the beautiful beach, we saw the roaming camels, cows, goats and donkeys, even a turtle! The view there is simply stunning. The hosts and staffs are very friendly and easy going. Like many ecolodges, it has its rustic charm, but is definitely not the most comfortable place to stay, especially our first night in the tent, it was a mosquito nightmare, we barely slept and our baby's little face is covered with mosquito bites. Although there were some problems and discomforts here and there, we still loved this place and would love to visit again.

Response from Antoine:
Thank you so much for your kind words about the food, view and the staff. We are happy to know that you loved the place despite that fact that there were mosquitoes! We have installed another mosquito net for the small bed and planted citronella and geranium all around the tent so there should be no more worries for next time! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and hopefully you can visit again one day.

L'Ane Vert was one of those amazing finds online and even better in person...we stayed for 3 nights and could have stayed another week easily...both the staff and the place are great, but even better is the location with one of the nicest beaches ever and all to yourself!! If considering a stay here, stop considering and book it!

Had a great stay, even in the "cold" month of January! The Ecolodge is quite isolated, but Antoine arranged a pickup from the Marrakech airport, and we were greeted warmly despite our late-night arrival. The friendly people who work at the lodge offer several on-site activities, but we contented ourselves to walks to the beach and villages during our two days there. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the busyness of the city for a bit and enjoy the beach -- not to mention the fantastic food!

L'Ane Vert is beautifully constructed- a real gem. The host was friendly and the food was good. I had the misfortune of being assaulted on the beach wearing a full length conservative outfit. After the attack the person left in charge (The owners were away on holiday) did not inform the other guests and also falsely told us he had called the police. We realize that it was not the "job" of the host to contact the authorities but being new to the country we did not know the protocol and therefore were too dependent upon the people working there to help us. The number for the rural emergencies in Morocco is 177. If you visit this place please do not wander the beaches or dunes or anywhere alone especially if you are female. We know that this was probably bad-luck but would feel responsible if we did not warn other people who plan to visit this area who might fall victim to the same experience.

Response from Antoine:
Hi Grey, In our 3 years of being here this is the first instance of it's kind and it it very unfortunate that that happened to you on your visit to Tafedna. Although we feel 100% safe out here since we arrived we must realise that no matter where you are in the world you never know. Luckily the man was caught the next day due to the fast action from the police. The staff member in charge immediately called the police but as often in Morocco things can take a little longer and they arrived the next day. Our staff member escorted you both to the police station and helped with translation and made sure the both of you felt comfortable. Even though the incident did not occur at L'Ane Vert we of course felt it our responsibility to assist you in this unfortunate circumstance as it can be very difficult in a foreign country. We can both be very happy that the culprit was found and we can be comfortable on the beach, but with added caution. We hope that you were able to enjoy the rest of your holiday despite the misfortune!

We really enjoyed our stay at L´ÂNE VERT. Antoine and Kara are both very friendly persons and Kara's cooking skills are matchless. The tent was comfortable and the view from the terrace amazing. It is definitely a place to relax.
