I liked the room, it was confortable and good price for that, the owners are really good hosts, them helped me to get my tour and even suggestions to get another hostal for the next days of my trip. The only thing that I didn't like was the distance from the center of Cusco, the hostal is really far away and I finish paying more for taxi than my planning. It's a place to relax, good for staying along the day if you don't want to go out.

Thanks for the review Esau and we are glad to hear that you found your room comfortable and appreciated our assistance. It is unfortunate though that you missed the section in the property description that indicates that we are located 30 minutes from Cusco, I have tried to make this section bold or highlight but the Airbnb system does not offer these options. We did enjoy having you here with us and do hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your time in the Cusco region.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at GringoWassi! We booked them for our 7 day stay in Cusco and contracted with them for private tours each day. They created an itinerary for us that was logical, flexible depending on our mood and comfortable. Breakfast at this airbnb is about $4 and dinner $5. We would recommend the apple pancakes and french toast. They can sometimes take meal requests with a little notice. Lyle was the best! He was our driver, tour guide, cook and bodyguard at times. =) As two young women traveling alone it was nice to have him always near. He was always so kind about taking photos with us and is quite the ham when you ask him to jump in the pictures too. We saw all that the Cusco area had to offer including Sacred Valley and Machu Pichu. Our 7 day stay, private tour, 7 days of breakfast/lunch and arrangements to get us to Machu Pichu was a around $1100 for the two of us. We found the cost reasonable and we'll worth it for the convenience. Would highly recommend!

Thanks for all the kind words Emilia and we loved having the two of you here with us. One correction to the above, breakfast is included with your room and dinners are $4. Hope you two enjoy the remainder of your trip.

What can I say -- so many great stories! Our stay at Gringo Wasi was amazing. Huarocondo is a small, quiet town, but it's only a 20 min drive from Incan ruins, local markets, and an easy connection to other popular sites via a colectivo (local bus). I did not meet Lyle and Liliana because they were traveling but the caretaker in their absence, Kelly, was an outstanding host. More than a host, she was a tour guide, a cook, and a concierge. She quickly felt like a good friend. Even her toddler being present added charm to our stay. The rooms were very clean. No bells and whistles. Just everything you need. The breakfast was hardy and the dinners were delicious. Kelly also went the extra mile to make a birthday cake upon request - not an easy feat in a place where cake essentials are in short supply. The water in our room went out a couple of times and the there's no sound proofing so everything is audible. But guess what? None of that mattered. We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended it two nights just to stay a full week. All in all, Gringo Wasi is a highly recommended stay to experience true Andean culture and wonderful people during your trip to Peru.

I stayed at gringo wasi for ten nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The town and surrounding country were interesting and devoid of touristic trivia. The presence of livestock walking through the narrow streets in the town as families took them to and from their homes to the outlying fields each morning and evening was a great experience. Locals were interested in conversation with myself and other guests to find out about us and to talk about their community and good local walks . The hostel likewise was most welcoming. Lyle and Lily were really good hosts being relaxed and friendly but also conscientious in ensuring everything was in (URL HIDDEN) example being the personal attention given to preparing morning and evening meals and sharing these with guests. My bedroom was clean and very comfortable with good quality furniture and a good ensuite shower. I appreceated my time at gringo wasi and recommend it to others who are looking for a friendly, comfortable and authentic small town experience.

Beautiful, comfy and hospitable BnB away from the hubbub. Lyle and Lily are very communicative and helpful with planning activities and transportation. Down bedding, hot showers, Direct TV, internet, gorgeous views. Very agricultural population, you will see and hear sheep, cows, and donkeys trotting down the cobble stone street, oh and dogs, lots of dogs. As it is remote, you need to be prepared for taking local transportation, or paying for day trips. Awesome value! Dinner for $4 and delicious breakfast...ask for the French Toast. Loved the experience, but one neighbor does listen to the radio early in the morning.
