Wow - what an amazing place - it was everything Alicia's listing said and more! The beautiful room with harbour views was so comfortable that I just wanted to stay in bed all day and look out the window. Alicia and her husband were very friendly and welcoming, but also gave me space to do my own thing. I enjoyed my stay and would love to go back there to stay if I'm ever in Auckland again.

What an excellent n warm welcome by the host. Both Alicia and James truly make you feel at home - as though I was crashing at my mate's place in New Zealand. And what a beautiful home - surrounded by water in a nice neighbourhood with stunning view of Auckland city. And Murphy is a bonus!

My sister stayed at Alicia's B&B and really enjoyed it. The accommodation was excellent and Alicia couldn't have been more welcoming. Both my sister and I would be more than happy to recommend Paradise on the Peninsula to anyone looking for accommodation in west Auckland. Andrea Lewis

James and Alicia were very welcoming! We landed early in the morning and exhausted ourselves with a big hike on Rangitoto and exploring Devonport. Alicia was happy for us to check in a bit early and got us settled in two rooms. Both were very comfortable with a king bed in one and a double bed in the other. The room with the king size bed featured a spectacular view across the bay to Auckland. There was also a balcony and very comfortable sitting areas (inside and out). The neighbourhood is beautiful with big homes and just a minutes walk from the waterfront where there are lots of birds and beautiful sunrises. A very nice spot to stroll, especially with the little maps Alicia supplied in our welcome booklet. They also had lots of suggestions of what to see in Auckland and tips for the next leg of our trip to the far north. They even gifted us with fresh herbs from their garden to take with us on the road trip. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed it on the back patio. The kitchen was clean and well equipped and they provided us space in the fridge and freezer to store our food. Of course, we have to mention Murphy. He is a very friendly pup and extremely well behaved and gentle. If we are ever back in Auckland, we will certainly get in touch with James and Alicia!

Alicia and James were awesome hosts! Friendly and funny, it was great chatting with them.. Took their advice and went to Muriwai Beach to catch the baby Gannets taking flight and it was amazing! They have loads of information on things to do there! Definitely a must go when you arrive or before you depart Auckland! Oh! And not to forget! Murphy!
