Our well loved home is characterised by colour, comfort, interesting spaces to relax; large family kitchen diner + snug, large lounge, 4 bedrooms with hilly views, 2 bathrooms. Garden + terrace are small, but full of plants, great for sitting/eating.

The space

The kitchen is a large communal space, well equipped for enjoying your cooking and has a lovely big dining table to share family / group meals, and a compact dishwasher. To the side is a comfy little snug with a view of the garden. A downstairs toilet includes washing machine and dryer. The large victorian hall is used as a music room, and has a piano and guitar which you are welcome to use with care.

The lounge is on the first floor and has two large comfortable sofas, TV, DVD player and cables for connecting your laptop to if you want to watch catch up TV.

Four bedrooms, all decorated individually with colour and character have double beds. One is a sofa bed. There is a spare single bed that can be put into a bedroom for another bed space.

Two beautiful bathrooms newly decorated (one on each floor) give you wet room shower facilities as well as a bath.

The garden has an eating terrace with herbs, (although there is not room for a large party to eat outside) a chiminea and candles, and the garden has small trees for shade, a fire pit (to be used with care!) and a hanging chair for relaxing in.

This is a family home, not a guest house - it is comfortable, well designed and furnished, spacious and full of character and personal effects rather than a smart and sparse hotel!

We were met by a house manager (as Debi was away) who showed us around the house and told us where everything was. Debi also kept in touch to check that everything was OK. The house is situated in a nice, quiet area behind the church, very near to local shops and cafes etc. The house is large with 3 floors, it was comfortable and homely with interesting and characterful decor. The children had a great time chasing up and down the stairs and exploring all the nooks and crannies and in the rambling garden. My 3 year old Grandson was asked what he thought of our holiday house and he said "I love it"

Debi was extremely helpful before we arrived. The house is very easy to find & was in a perfect location for the wedding we were going to. Plenty of space for 6 people and a toddler; well-equipped and a lovely welcome pack.

Great fun place, lots of space, comfy beds. We loved the garden and had a fire in the chiminea.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully quirky house. Debi and Cara were very attentive hosts ensuring we had a great place to eat Friday evening and communicated throughout our stay to ensure all was going well. The location was ideal for walks in the Derbyshire countryside and close to Chatsworth house.

Debi wasn't there to meet us but her house manager Cara showed us around and was lovely and welcoming. The house is charming and beautiful and we couldn't have asked for anything more. The surrounding area is great for exploring and getting out and about.

We had a lovely weekend in Debi and Paddy's house. The description of their large, family home is accurate, we found it a warm, cosy and very interesting space to be in. Debi and Paddy were extremely generous in their hospitality enabling us to feel very much at home. Before arriving Debi gave very clear directions and instructions about who we were to meet ( Cara the keyholder who was very friendly).
