This idyllic home was the perfect setting for our reunion of friends. Clean, spacious and very charming, it felt immediately intimate. Jantien and Peter were really gracious hosts, welcoming and showing us around on the first day and making us feel at home. We stayed for four nights as a group of eight adults and one child and we didn’t miss a thing. The house is fully equipped, from sugar and spices to candles and firewood. The chess table, the piano and the telescope were also really nice to have. The two living rooms, the kitchen and the terrace worked as an ensemble that allowed us to be together while making pancakes, grilling food or playing tunes. The bedrooms were comfortable and Jantien made sure we had everything we needed for our young one, including child-proofing the staircase. We were lucky enough to have sun every morning so coffee and breakfast on the small jetty next to the canal became an indispensable ritual. In the evenings, lighting up the fireplace created the perfect mood for intimate conversation among friends. During the day, there’s plenty to explore. There are a few small towns 15 minutes away by car and Utrecht is 25 minutes away. But even staying in can be fun. There’s a beautiful garden where you can read, lounge or play games. Or you can go out on the lake. The motorised boat was our favourite surprise. Even though we had little experience, Peter kindly showed us how to use it and we had a great time exploring the lake. He also showed us where to find life vests in the shed, especially important for our 3-year-old. We highly recommend this home for a relaxing holiday among family or friends. You will leave recharged, but wanting more. Our thanks to Jantien and Peter for making it possible. PS. We were so impressed with this house that we delegated the task of writing this review to most talented member of our group!

We are were a group of 10 - 5 adults and 5 children (ages from 1 to 11 years old) and we all had a great time. Before we got to the house we saw the images in the site and were exited to get there, but reality even exceeded the images - This is a perfect vacation home! The house is well kept and extremely well equipped - you will find everything you need as a family in vacation: A fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room for family dinners or relaxation, and comfy and spacious bedrooms. If you are travelling with an infant (as we did), the house have everything you need - infants bed, high chairs, playpen and plenty of wooden toys. The whole house just immediately gives you a feeling of a real home. The garden outside is huge and pastoral, with plenty of spots where you can enjoy its beauty. The kids can go wild in the endless lawn, you can go for a walk across a small wooden bridge and explore the more "wild" part of the garden, or just take the engine boat (or the kayak) from the boathouse to a peaceful cruise in the lake near by. The village is a tiny and quiet classic dutch village about 35 minutes away from Amsterdam. Nothing much to do but in just 5-10 minutes car ride you can get to the lovely towns of Breukelen or Loosdrecht that are packed with cafe's and restaurants and other places of interest. Jantien and Peter, the hosts, were really welcoming and easy-going and made sure we have everything we need before leaving, even gave us a nice tour full with explaining on what's in the house and it's history. Thank you Jantien and Peter, these 10 day were just the perfect vacation, largely thanks to you and your beautiful home. The Haase family

This house is a gem, a real home away from home. There was ample room to accommodate our 3 families with 5 grand kids, ranging from 8 months to 5 years. The kitchen had all the conveniences we expected, such as coffee makers, dish washers and there was availability to do laundry, which with little ones is a must. The patio and the large backyard were great places to just hang out or play a game. Having access to a boat with so much water around certainly was a plus. Not in the last place do we need to mention our hosts Peter and Jantien, who did everything possible to make our stay pleasant and memorable. In short, this is a wonderful place which we can recommend to anybody, especially a family.

Jantien and Peter's home has everything you could need! It was easy to find with our GPS and had all the conveniences you would want. The beds were comfortable and the living areas were great to hang out in when we were home. The location is so beautiful and tranquil. Jantien and Peter were lovely welcoming hosts and gave us so much helpful information. This is a great location for those with a car who are exploring several locations in Holland.

We are 8 of us in the group, before arrival, Jantien take the initiative to ask us how many of us are single , couple etc so that she can prepare the room accordingly, what a kind thought. On our arrival she and the husband waiting for us at the house and show us around the house, explain the amenities etc. We love the house and the quiet surrounding ,althought a distance to Amsterdam city but it is convenience to drive and park the car @ Olympic Stadium and take tram to Amsterdam City. When we are there it is cold and chilly day hence we dont get the chance to try the boat / canoe right at the back of the house. But we do enjoyed the kitchen and house facility very much. Will definitely booked the same place during our next visit. Thanks Jantien are great Host!!
