Cozy and comfortable 3 BD, 2 Bath, house in the Seabright neighborhood on the east side of Santa Cruz. Just a short walk to the beach, downtown and shopping. Full complement of appliances. Great for a couple's weekend away or a family vacation.

The space

The Coop is a three bedroom, two bath home located on our block in the Seabright of Santa Cruz. The home can host up to 5 folks -- two bedrooms (full & single) downstairs with a shared bath and the light house queen bedroom upstairs overlooking our Windham tree and rooftops as well as eucalyptus heron sanctuary with its own private bathroom.
The bedrooms are cozy and the beds are comfy -- high quality linens, pillows and towels (of course!) and memory foam toppers (bien sur!)

Filled with natural light, the open floor plan boasts a well appointed kitchen, perfect for the gourmet in you,
and dining room/living room area with a large farm house table, perfect for the Visual Artist in you -- crafter, painter, quilt maker, collagist. Original photography bedeck the walls while hardwood floors and spare furnishings may inspire the dancer in you to push it all out of the way and take over! (It did in me!)

Garden back room with cable TV (for the couch potato in you), laundry room with washer/dryer and deep laundry sink (rinsing paint brushes!), office for organizing those papers, outdoor shower for rinsing off surf and sand and two large decks (BBQ) with generous outdoor seating, relaxing double hammock under the arbor and a glorious variety of scented roses flourishing every where make this home a relaxing, comfortable space for a vacation or work retreat.
Walk, bike or drive to everything Santa Cruz -- beach, mountains. boardwalk , the Pacific Garden Mall, great restaurants, wine tasting and music venues -- are all within 5 minutes.

The Coop was great for our extended weekend getaway: excellent location, quiet neighborhood, well equipped kitchen, nice backyard deck... Bruce's directions and home info were right on. Be aware that the upstairs bathroom and shower are a bit small (not much elbow room in the shower), though it was not a problem for us.

Lovely older neighborhood. Short walks to beach, shopping. Very homey accommodations. If you want to relax and read, or stretch out and do yoga, this house is a very very very fine house!

Cute house on the outside when you drive up. Nice parking in the driveway. The bathrooms were clean and the hardwood floors in the downstairs were very nice. The house has great potential but really needs some attention to detail and the ant/TLC issue.

The house was great and had everything we needed. It is spacious and well furnished. Location is also great: a quiet neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Bruce was very helpful and responsive. We had a problem with a tax that was mistakenly collected by Airbnb, but Bruce helped to resolve this issue. We are grateful to Bruce for hospitality and will definitely recommend anyone to stay at his house.

We had a lovely time staying in Bruce's home. It was the perfect layout for our family - our older son had his own room and we had space for our little one in his cot in our room downstairs. My parents, who were with us, had their own space, including bathroom, upstairs. The location was perfect - very close to the beach, and a short drive to UCSC, downtown, and the wharf. The only thing to keep in mind is the blinds are more for privacy than blocking light, so the bedrooms, and especially the child room downstairs, is quite bright. It might be good to bring some blackout curtains to tack up if that's a concern. Otherwise, everything was perfect - we'd definitely stay here again!

The house is beautiful, with all the needed accomodations. In a quiet neighborhood really close to the beach. Bruce was an awesome host and really went out of his way to meet our needs, I will definitely recommend or go back to the house!

It is a great home and totally according to Bruce' descriptions online. It is very cozy and has everything you need. Here and there the house could use some re modeling but we found it still charming. The outdoor furniture could have been cleaned a bit though but nothing to ask Bruce to return from his home. Bruce is a very nice man and we saw him for check in and out. Great stay. We had fun.
