The Pond Cottage at Common Ground is a beautifully restored 100+ year old work shop with exposed posts and beams, comfy queen bed, leather recliner, writing desk and a half bath with composting toilet. Rustically appointed and very homey.

The space

The Pond Cottage boasts a decor matching it's name. Antique fly fishing rods, creel baskets, duck decoys, a lobster pot and more. Enjoy the outdoor antique bear claw bathtub on a hot summer evening, while listening to the bullfrogs croaking their love songs.

We love staying with Mike and Lindy. Everything is easy, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning is a great bonus!

Mike and Lindy's place is a beautiful, peaceful oasis! We stayed in the Pond Cottage and it was cozy, clean and just as pictured. Common ground is great for a relaxing stay, walking by the stream and Playing catch with Trigger the dog. Breakfast was deliciously cooked by Lindy before we headed to Hawk Mountain, which was a short drive away. Mike and Lindy were great with recommendations and communication before and after our visit. I would definitely recommend a trip to Common Grounds if you need a getaway in green Pennsylvania! Can't wait to return!

Exactly as described. Mike and Lindy are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. Not to mention their super-friendly dog Trigger who is always looking for someone to throw a ball! :)

Mike and Lindy's property at Common Ground is a darling retreat in the PA foothills. Conveniently located 1.5 hours from Philly, it was a perfect weekend getaway but I would recommend staying longer than one night! Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible and my friends and I hope to return soon. Definitely stay with Mike and Lindy if you're looking for land with flowers and a running creek, peace and quiet and a nice, energetic pup, a delicious breakfast and an adorable cottage experience. Highly recommended!

Mike & Lindy User ProfileMike & Lindy is a superhost.

We are a happily married couple who have been together for 25 years, and raised three children who are all out of the house now. We have had the great blessing of living and working all over the world including places like India, Australia, China, Africa and here in the US. Lindy is a pediatric Occupational Therapists who loves kids and works tirelessly to help them overcome some of their developmental challenges. She loves to play in the dirt and grow things, including flowers, vegetables, berries, fruit and friendships. She grew up on a 12,000 acre sheep farm in Western Australia and though she's lived in this country for some time, she still speaks with a funny accent.

Mike is from the Midwest, and works in the nonprofit sector and higher education. Bitten by the travel bug early in life, he's lived and worked in Yosemite National Park, completed a 4,000 mile bicycle tour in the US and a 2,000 mile bicycle tour in Europe. His work in community service, missions, youth development and nonprofit management have allowed him to see the world and meet folks from all different cultures - loving every bit of it. He is a student of leadership and community building, and has a masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University.

Together we love to camp or stay at B&Bs when we travel. We love the outdoors and believe there is something spiritual about spending time in the woods without the noise that we've become so accustomed to. Our hope is to share our special little piece of creation with our guests - to help them unplug, unwind and discover some real peace - on the outside and inside!
