The Baja Beach Bullet is a 1967 Airstream Silver Bullet, at La Salina Beach. Its old school and RUSTIC, but functional. Has private palapa ocean view seating area, and direct sandy beach access: 50 yards away. CHEAPEST PRIVATE BEACH RENTAL IN BAJA!

The space

The Baja Beach Bullet is a vintage rustic Airstream that has gone VIRAL and may now be called an I-STREAM!~ Yep this rustic Bullet
has WIFi AND TV! The JETSONS would have been PROUD!

The Bullet is located on the beachfront street in the community of La Salina Del Mar, @ 45 minutes south of the TJ/San Diego Border @ the KM 73 exit that also serves Puerto La Salina. This community is @ 50 years old and counting!

FULL DISCLOSURE: The Bullet is a 26 foot 1967 Airstream Overlander, and its exterior shows oxidation typical for beach front RV's. I insist that a potential renter understands that it is RUSTIC, because of its vintage and its proximity to the ocean. However, it is clean, cozy, comfortable and functional.

It features 2 twin single beds; as well as a foldout sofa bed up front, that 2 might squeeze in, but certainly for 1....the epitome of Air BnB's original concept!

Kitchen has fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, Nu-Wave hotplate, and basic kitchen utensils. There is also a charcoal BBQ outside. (George Forman Grill Machine available upon request). It is "fan" conditioned in the heat of summer (which is not always necessary at the beach). And electric/propane heat in winter.

Bullet has WIFI and TV that you can connect to your laptop for Netflix, etc. DVD and VHS player also available.

Bathroom includes Shower/tub combo, but not very large.

Guest access

The Bullet shares a yard with my Beach Bungalow which means other guests may be in the general area, but the two units are adequately separated by space and each has its own entrance from the community road. Then again, if no one is at Bungalow, then no big deal! In certain circumstances, if no one is renting the Bungalow you may be able to enjoy the upstairs deck....but of course the Bullet has its own bar height table under the palapa which means you can sit and see the ocean and beach, while enjoying a cold cerveza!

Washer/Dryer is actually in a back portion of the Bungalow, and is available if you request its use WHEN YOU BOOK! If you wait til you show up, no guarantees, but usually Bungalow guests, are like YOU very COOL and wont mind sharing the w/d.

Interaction with guests

As explained above, you may run into the other guests at Bungalow, but obviously I request that everyone respect each other's right to privacy and decorum.

I usually try to meet/greet incoming guest when possible to give a 5-10 minute orientation. Other than that I am available as needed or requested, only!

Other things to note

The access to the beach is @ 50 yards south of the Bullet.
Parking for one vehicle is OK right in front of the Bullet next to the gate/sidewalk that leads up to Bullets door.

So fun!! We connected with BajaBrent at the last minute to book the Bullet, and we LOVED it!! Total authentic rural Mexican beach experience. It's exactly as described- a vintage Airstream steps from the beach. There's a super cute little outdoor patio, and the neighborhood cantina was amazing and welcoming. We danced to live music and wandered back and forth from the ocean to the cantina, and it was perfect. Totally an amazing rustic Mexican Beach adventure within easy driving distance to Ensenada and Rosarito. Brent was a great and super communicative host- we totally appreciated him!

The airstream is great! It's definitely not "posh" if that's what you're looking for, but it's a different experience and I found it very comfortable. I was sad to leave!

A stone's throw to the beach, easy parking, and the cantina (a 5 minute walk) has karaoke on Friday nights. My girlfriend and I had THE BEST time! Thanks Brent!

This listing is what makes AirBnB so awesome. Where else can you find an old Airstream, located 100 yards from a beautiful Mexican beach to call home for a few days?! Overall this was a nice little spot. Although I didn't use any of the kitchen appliances, it appears that there is some functionality there, but my guess would be that only the sink and coffee machine works. Oh and most importantly, the refrigerator was new and worked great. Brent can confirm for you. I was by myself for this stay and therefore had plenty of space. I could see there being room for one more, but probably not ideal for three people. Other than that, future guests should be aware that the bathroom and shower are very small, as you would expect. The toilet worked great, but I had to shower on my knees as the shower head was at chest level for me. All in all, this is a cool, unique space that gives you a nice, nostalgic glimpse into what it must have been like to do some high-end camping 40 years ago.

Response from Brent:
Patrick was a great and cool guest. But rather than let his "speculation" (about the kitchen) dictate the Bullet evaluation: he didn't really "use" the kitchen. Yes the sink and coffee machine work (coffee maker is brand new); as do the microwave; the hotplate (which is actually state of the art--you can't burn yourself on it under any circumstance); there is a gas range--that is functional--if requested--- but w/ a microwave; and hotplate; and an outdoor BBQ--what else does one need (to cook) in an AIRSTREAM at the beach? Alternatively--like he mentions-- when there is a cantina/bar w/ great food 200 yard walk down the beach; and several other eateries in the hood? Likewise Pat didn't figure out that the front futon is actually a full size bed--w/ a flick of the wrist; that with the 2 single beds has worked well for 2-4 guests many times, although I admit it can be a little crowded above 3 and is only recommended at that size for CLOSE friends/family. As for the rest YES its a 50 y.o. Airstream, built at a time when humans didn't eat fast food everyday...soooo its not OVERSIZED! But like he says....its a "cool unique space" So thanks Patrick for coming and enjoying the BULLETT, but in fairness, if you REALLY didn't cook there, your speculation of the functionality of the kitchen, is a bit misplaced...ditto on the # of guests who could enjoy the space! After all it is an RV, designed for the same! cheers BB

Brent was super accommodating. We booked a very last minute trip to Baja and he responded to our request within minutes and the place was ready for our arrival within the hour. Brent warned us that the trailer was rustic, and it definitely was. However, it had hot running water and was walking distance to the beach and a cantina and we couldn't ask for more. The Beach Bullet was like stepping back in time, and it was really fun. The only concern I had was that the window shades were see-through when it was dark outside but the lights were on in the trailer. So at night, privacy was limited. However, there was minimal foot traffic in the area. Also, the door doesn't lock from the inside. It's kind of like camping in that sense, but something to keep in mind. Overall we loved the whole experience!!

Response from Brent:
Glad you liked the place Cari. The blinds are bamboo and never really thought about it, will look into that. The lock, is a good point and will remedy that ASAP.

I am a professional vacation rental host of 20+ years. I have facilitated over 9000 guests over the years, and enjoy the positive experience of providing beach rentals to vacationers. I specialize in Baja CA Mexico Gold Coast (between Tijuana and Ensenada; and north county San Diego. My main house --the Baja Beach Lodge-- is sometimes ran as a real Bed and Breakfast when not booked exclusively thru services such as this Thus the home is kept in excellent condition as opposed to someone's 2nd home which is generally an after thought. Here in La Salina, I am the concessionaire for Ejido La Mision ( a family coop of property owner of 15,000 acres). My concession is for paragliding, hang gliding, and other ultralight sports conducted from the La Salina flying ridge 1 mile east of the Beach Lodge. A lot of my guests come to fly this world renown flying site. We also fly some powered ultralights from the beach, and some pilots will take guests FLYING! I am a retired trial lawyer, and enjoy the peace, tranquility, and recreational aspects of living on the beach in Mexico. As the picture depicts, I am also an avid karaoke singer...Won some comps in the past, but that's a story for another day! Altogether I own, operate, manage, @ 6 properties on both sides of the border. San Diego is America's finest city, and Baja is the best Mexican venue one can reside. Come visit. I will do my best to please.
