Azumi is a great host, and in my opinion he exemplifies what airbnb should be about. Everything was done well, and Azumi is a kind and friendly person who is interesting to converse with and exchange perspectives with. This place was more than just a place to sleep - I made a friend, learned a lot, and made great memories. The room is very cozy and has a unique aesthetic - so I highly recommend for people who love this kind of efficiently compact living and a simplicity of materials. Staying here is an experience in itself. The area is a beautiful and placid neighbourhood that will make you feel truly immersed in the day to day life of Kyoto citizens, being somewhat removed from the bustling atmosphere of the city centre. It also makes it more convenient for those interested in frequenting locations south of the city, such as Daigo-ji (a short walk away) and Uji (quick and easy to get to by train). As the subway line is a 4 minutes walk away, transport is not an issue at all. This was my second time staying with Azumi - and needless to say, Azumi's place has become my accommodation of choice for Kyoto. I rank it at the top of my experiences with airbnb.

Azumi was a great host. A very kind, person. We shared beers and okonomiyaki together and managed to get some time to visit Biwa-ko for a swim. It's nice and quiet, with a river nearby, great for walks or jogs. Family mart and 7/11 are close by. The place is not the closest place to the center of the city, but only 20mins train ride to Sanjo (the main area).

Azumi is your next best host!! I loved my week here and really felt at home after travelling so much. It is such a charming place, original, and deeply connected with ceramic spirit. Bed is comfy and you have enough intimacy with the curtain. The place is 8 min walk to the subway station and 20 min to reach downtown Kyoto. We shared meals together, manju sweets, karaoke, public bath, ceramic class and much more... That was like living with my long term flatmate. He was my host but I made a friend too. Thanks Azumi from the bottom of my heart.

This has been my favourite place to stay in the whole of Japan so far. Azumi is a great human being and a delight to be in the company of. You will find him very easy going, easy to talk to and open-minded. His place is awesome, being a pottery workshop and having a lot of self-made features, so it has a real DIY charm. I couldn't recommend this place any higher. Azumi will make you feel very much at home and is able to communicate his thoughts on life in Japan very clearly. It's easy to get to from Kyōto station and there are lots of nearby sights such as Fushimi Inari, Diagoji, Mount Hiei and Lake Biwa, and it's really easy to get to Nara for a day trip.

I love art, music. I have a DJ training in a small dance club sometimes.
I used to be a pottery wheel craftman about 20years,
but I pained my neck.
So I changed my work for a welfare of people with disability and moved to Kyoto,I love.
I have slight hearing loss and I can't speak English well, but I'd like to speak English better.
