The accommodation is as described. The cleaning of the sleeping area and the bathroom is good, while the cleaning of the kitchen could be better. Nijar is about 30 minutes drive from the main beaches of the area, outside the natural park area, so along the road to reach the coast you cross the area of the greenhouses, not very beautiful to see. As it is about 800 m above sea level in the evening it is quite cool (bring a golfin!).

Fantastic little holiday place! The views are spectacular from the roof patio. Claire & Chris are wonderfully welcoming. Nothing is a problem and the village apartment is totally decked out with all home comforts + beach gear as well. Not a place for mobile challenged people as there is a staircase to each floor. Otherwise a great place to stay. Anywhere from 20 - 50mins to an awesome selection of beaches - great location if you like to explore different beaches each day.

This flat is absolutely delightful ... As per the photos. It is centrally located, free parking not far away and Jane ( who holds the keys) is extremely helpful. There is also lots of of good local information in the flat. We had a great time hiking to Huebro, dining in the local cafe/bar (La Glorietta) and were well supplied with good coffee by master barista Mustafa. We extended our stay and left reluctantly. Najir, it's local residents and artisans and this little flat are definitely worth a visit.

Very nice and pleasant place to spend time. We truly recommend it. Me and my wife really enjoyed our staying in Nijar at Captain & The Mermaids... .The house is very pretty and facilities are very good. The kitchen area and dinning room are very well presented and it is very comfortable to be there, you can easily cook and enjoy your time stress free. The balcony with its incredibly views of the village, Nijar valley, Cabo de Gata and the mountains behind Nijar is quiet something. If you want to visit the area and go to Cabo de Gata beaches or around you will need a car but we actually enjoyed staying in Nijar as oppose to other areas inside Cabo de Gata closer to the beaches (which you will still need a car ). The driving from Nijar to the natural park was not bad at all and the location of Nijar allows you to access easily to all top locations in Cabo de Gata, Almeria, highway towards Murcia... Also, Claire contact in Nijar is extremely pleasant, we are really grateful to her to for help and nice chats. thanks, we really enjoyed and we will definitely repeat.

We had a wonderful time in Claire's house. The town ehere it is located is quiet so you can rest, but also near to cabo de gata so beach and tapas are always close to you! The equipment of the house is complete for 2 pax. And Jayne, who gave us the keys, is lovely. We recommend this little house without any doubt!

We had a lovely stay at Claire's house with many dinners on the rooftop terrace. I recommend everyone to do like us and spend your days at the untouched beaches of the natural reserve Cabo de Gata, less then one hour away by car.

We recently spent a year in Borneo, Malaysia. Chris (my husband) and I bought the house in Nijar at the recommendation of a friend. It was a good decision. Buying a house in Spain that needs renovating is highly stressful, especially when you don't have command of the language. However, we are delighted with the outcome and the house is now available to give friends, family and others a taste of the beauty in and around the village and region.
We are keen adventrurers and have spent time in some interesting parts of the world. We are both musicians and have performed in various locations and venues. In fact, we met through playing guitar and violin for a festival gig some years ago!
Musicians, painters, photographers, walkers and cyclists will all find inspriration in Andalucia. We hope you have a wonderful time and fall in love with our magical little house as much as we have.
