It's a nice charming Florentine apartment in the old city center. 5 minutes far from the Duomo and the Uffizi and 15 min far from train station by feet. Thanks to its view on a garden the apartment it's very quiet and always fresh during the summer.

The space

The apartment was completely renovated in 2011 and is situated in an ancient medieval convent near the famous church of Santa Croce. The flat reflect the medieval origin of the building with some details such as ceilings with wooden beams and ancient Florentine terracotta floor. There are two bedrooms with double beds ans a nice living room with kitchen. From the lounge you can enjoy a pleasant view of the garden of Borgo Allegri.

Guest access

You can reach the apartment by bus, by taxi or by feet.

By bus(15 min): take the city bus line C2 (from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) from "Stazione Alamanni" to "Malborghetto". Bus tickets can be purchased (1.5 €) on board asking the driver.

By taxi (10 min): at the train station you can easily find and take a taxi. There's a taxi station just in front of the exit. The ride should cost you approximately 20/25€.

By Feet (25 min): -From Piazza Stazione (The train station square) go straight to Via Panzani up to the Piazza del Duomo.
-Continue straight along the cathedral and, walking around, get into Via del Proconsolo.
-Continue on Via del Proconsolo and take the second road on the left (Via Ghibellina).
-Continue for 600 meters on Via Ghibelline and take the road not right. -You will be in Via de 'Macci.

During your stay in Florence, you can visit a lot of museums churches and gardens. I recommend you to buy a guidebook to better discover all the typical and hidden places of Florence, but I'll try to give you some tips.

Museums: Uffizi (where you can see the most important Renaissance paintings) the Accademia (where you can see the David of Michelangelo and other magnificent renaissence statues and paintings), the Palazzo Pitti Museum or the Scienze Museum (near the Uffizi), the archaeological Museum where you can find the world most important collection of Etruscan Art and the fourth European collection of Egyptians Art.

Churches: Florence is well knew for its wonderful churches such as the Cathedral and its cupola, Santo Spirito, Santa Croce ( 2 min from the apartment), Santa Maria Novella (and the ancient perfumes factory of the monks), the convent of San Marco with its beautiful frescoes by Beato Angelico or San Miniato with its splendid view on the city and its ancient monumental cemetery .

Gardens: Florence its surrounded by wonderful hills where you can find some beautiful gardens such as: The Boboli Garden (Palazzo Pitti's Garden); the Bardini Garden (you can visit it with the boboli garden ticket); The Botanic Garden (Orto Botanico) near San Marco Church. If you want to enjoy a splendid view of Florence you can also visit the pretty little town of Fiesole (25 minutes by bus line 7 from S. Marco Square).

Interaction with guests

We live 500 meters far fro the apartment. One of the family members (me, my brother and my parents) will be surely available during all your stay.

Great experience. Very clean and comfortable. Wifi works, air conditioning works, beds are firm but comfortable. Located away from the madness of the Duomo but still right in the middle of a great neighborhood in Florence. You can walk to all the major sites without ever taking a cab or riding the bus. The bakery on the corner (Forno) is full of treats and a nice first stop in the morning. As others have noted, the shower temperature is very difficult to regulate (either scalding or freezing), but that’s the only minor issue in an otherwise excellent home. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay at Filippos apartment. The communication was very good, check-in was really fast and the apartment was really cozy and clean. Also, the location is just perfect for exploring the city. We would definitely come back!

Had a blast in Florence. We loved our stay. The apartment is clean and the air conditioner only really kept cool the lower levels. However, Filippo had fans in each bedroom. We kept the sunshine out when we're out exploring by keeping his really cool wooden window shutters closed. The character in this apartment was second to none. It was very charming. I especially loved the flooring throughout the house. The only suggestions I can offer, which isn't a big deal, would be to explain that your washer is not available. Laundry mats are close but I would of loved to know that ahead of time. Thanks to his father's advice, we found a few really close options. (Really wasn't a big deal) P.S. the gelato in the nearby streets is so amazing. Favourite so far in Italy! Thanks Filippo!
