A wonderful upstairs gem in the popular Bywater area of New Orleans, just outside of the infamous French Quarter (20 minute walk). Upstairs lounging porch is a great place to start the morning and end the evening. Fully stocked kitchen.

The space

This Bywater apartment is a traditional New Orleans "shotgun" style house, but one of the bedrooms does have a door. It is upstairs in the "camel back" part of the house. A nice big comfy claw foot tub is great for the end of the day to soothe a body after touring in our fun city.

There is one bedroom in the back of the apartment that has a queen size bed; the living room has a queen size sofa sleeper; the front bedroom has a day bed with a pop up trundle (which makes two twin beds or smooshed together makes a king size bed).

Guest access

You'll have a wonderful covered porch to hang out in, access to a shared washer and dryer, plenty of street parking, fully stocked kitchen, 42" Smart Roku tv, high speed secured wireless network. hair dryer, iron, puzzles, games.

Interaction with guests

I live in an apartment on the first floor and I work from home so I am usually around if you have any questions, but you will have all of the privacy you need.

Other things to note

I have cats, but they stay downstairs so they shouldn't bother you.
The stairs to the apartment are steep but few because we have tall ceilings, so if you have any issues with stairs you might want to re-consider.

Leslie's place is in the perfect location to explore New Orleans and then retreat into a quiet, friendly neighborhood, ideal for us traveling with small children. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars within walking distance. The house is clean, comfortable and well kept. Leslie was a delight to deal with and gave some useful recommendations. Highly recommended.

Great location, lovely space - morning coffee on the shady balcony was lovely! Key collection was easy and while there is another apartment sharing the entrance area, it felt very private. Would recommend.

This is one of the cutest spots I've stayed in in NOLA. It is decorated really nicely and Leslie left fresh flowers for us which was wonderful. The patio is super cute and a great place to hang out, sometimes visited by an adorable kitty! The neighborhood is really cute, and walking distance to my FAVORITE place in NOLA -- Country Club. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Leslie's place. We loved the private kitchen. Had everything available to cook dinner, just bring your own food and spices. There were skillets and baking sheets available, plates bowls. Bathtub/shower was awesome and hot. Shampoo and conditioner stocked. There were plenty of towels and everything was clean. Most of all we loved how cozy it was, like staying at a friends. The stairs may be steep but we're young and it wasnt a problem at all. Maybe if you have like no energy or if you have some health conditions it might be intense but definitely not impossible, there are rails to hold on to.. loved the location, the architecture and homey feel, we will definitely be back! Thank you!

The house was awesome, plenty of space and very comfortable. My wife and I were in town when a tropical storm was predicted to hit. Leslie checked in with us to make sure we were prepared for power outage etc. fortunately the storm blew over with no impacts in NOLA and we had an awesome weekend!

Leslie's place is a fantastic stay for an authentic and comforting New Orleans experience. She, as well as another tenant, live on the property in separate dwellings and I really appreciate that her home accommodates travelers while not displacing locals. The apartment was clean and private and I loved all the art around the house (especially the emu painting in the bathroom!) It's in a great and walkable neighborhood about 30 min from The French Quarter in heels ;) Thank you Leslie, we truly enjoyed our stay!

Leslie's place was perfect for my colleagues and I to spend the night before a conference. Leslie was very accommodating with check-in, working with us to drop off bags early and even check in early so we could explore the city without our luggage in tow. The space was cute, fun, and homey, with enough sleeping options for my coworkers and I to share the space comfortably. The porch was wonderful, as was the fully stocked kitchen, and we all wished we were staying at Leslie's place for our entire visit!

I have lived in New Orleans all of my life, and I love hosting people who come to the enjoy the city. I also love to travel - and I travel in a very comfortable, modest style. I love camping and canoeing. I am an artist and I work in technology.
