The bungalow is located in Palaiochora up to the beach and 300 metres from the center of the town!
It can accommodate up to 3 guests with double or single beds!
It's provided with a little kitcenate, fridge and aircondition !
The location of this property is great as it is right on the beach (though there was an unexpecteed and at times noisy late night club/ bar just a bit further along the beach). The welcome from Joanna (described by Thodoris the host in a text as his partner) was lovely and very welcoming. However, this accommodation was the worst we stayed in on our trip around Crete ( different places), and was very poor value for money. The apartment is in desperate need of some tender loving care with many of the fixtures and fittings of a very poor standard or broken (for example broken light fittings, very old and tired fridge and kitchen unit, poor quality and mismatched crockery and cutlery, poor quality bedding, broken and shabby outdoor furniture, and unkempt outdoor space in the area immediately around the apartment). The accommodation does not measure well in terms of quality and VFM with other Air BnB experiences in other countries. We would not recommend staying at this apartment, nor sadly repeat the experience.
A wonderful place in a great location. 15 mins walk from the bus station and next to a lovely beach these self contained rooms and bungalows are clean and comfortable and in a peaceful location. We stayed 4 nights and had a great time. Our host was friendly and helpful with advice on renting bikes, places to eat and where to visit. Highly recommended!
We stayed 4 nights at this bungalow. This place has a very nice private sandy beach, it’s probably one of the best spot of Paleochora. It’s about 10 mins on foot from the center of the city. The location is great but I must say that I was disappointed by the bungalow. The pictures do not match the place, or more precisely they used pictures from different bungalows. So I expected to have two rooms because the pictures are showing different rooms… it’s actually one room including a very small kitchen. There was no basic products to cook (oil, salt, pepper…). The wi-fi network kept failing, disconnecting, asking to enter the password over and over despite the password being correct. The signal was actually much better outside. There was no shutter on the window. The air conditioner was not very effective. You cannot put toilet paper in the water closet. The room was not very clean. The door is not completely closing unless you use the key. All this are small imperfections but quite frustrating when cumulated. Despite my messages, Theodoris apparently did not tell Gianna that we were a family so the bungalow did not have the proper amount of beds when we arrive. We had to take another one. We had such a great experience in our 3 previous Airbnb in Crete that this last one was kind of bummer.
We spent 10 nights in the seafront bungalow and had a fantastic time. As other reviews state, its sea-front, on pretty much your own private beach. It's small & sandy and great for relaxing. Accommodation is nice and clean with decent aircon and average wifi. Location is not too far a walk from the town, around 800m to the centre with all restaurants, cafes and amenities available there. The owner Gianna is very approachable and helpful and can provide you with recommendations for beaches and restaurants. If I revisit Palaiochora I would stay here again for sure.
We didn't stay in this appartment, but were given a larger bungalow closer to the street by mistake. When we realized the mistake there was some confusion whether we could swap or not, but stayed in the bungalow at the end. In total, the location is beautiful and quiet, Gianna, who takes care of the site, is approachable and helpful. The place is not far from the city centre, close enough to walk. Also, the Anidri beach is close enough to walk to in 20 minutes. The interior of the house we stayed in was clean, but unfortunately a bit run-down and in need of modernisation. Especially mattresses, bedroom and living room, as well as terrace furniture seem to be quite old and outdated. There was quite a bad odour in the bathroom of the bungalow we stayed in, but that needn't be in this place. Also, you had to switch on hot water before using it, which was confusing and came with a time delay. Wifi was working great! The best we had in all Crete up until now, and we have been coming here for 7 years now! The nicest thing about the site is that it is bang on a very quiet pebble beach and I went running in the morning and could stretch or do yoga on the beach and swimming straight afterwards. Bliss! In total, we spent a nice time in Paleochora and will be back!
