It is light, it is breezy, it is spacious, it has a fantastically well equipped kitchen, and the location was just what we were looking for: really peaceful in the Northeast of the island. It's a short walk down a path to the local beach, from which you can walk around to Anini beach quite easily. And Hanalei bay is a short drive away, no more than 15 minutes at the relaxed Kauai driving pace. We slept really well in the big upstairs bed and just wished we could have stayed much longer. In September when we visited Hanalei bay was pretty flat and I enjoyed swimming across the Bay most days. The local beach and adjacent Anini also very agreeable for swimming, and we went to Donkey and Kahili Beaches further southeast for waves and a great surfing lesson. If you're looking for a peaceful base in Princeville and you enjoy cooking this is a great place! There is also a thorough selection of local guide books, which is helpful, so much beauty and wonder to explore on Kauai!

Tom's place is perfect, especially for a small group. It is in a great location and has everything you need. Make sure that you have everything arranged for how to get into Tom's place before you arrive, though. We did not receive details in time and ended up having to stay in a hotel the first night. Our inability to reach Tom put a damper on our first day in Kauai, but once we were able to get into the space we had a wonderful time.

Tom is a wonderful host in absentia. Relatively easy to reach via SMS (not phone). He was supportive and reassuring. It is a beautiful home. The rental agency was not easy to reach in day time during torrential rain. Their instructions were not friendly or helpful. Still we were not clear how and where to discard recyclables. Beach is not easily accessible except by by a 15-min drive. But the house space and good design and conveniences made up for a TV which was difficult to manage and view. The TV in a bedroom worked OK. Good home luxurious it is not.

Really reasonable. Lots of sleeping options. We had our three kids-ages 2-11- and everyone felt safe and easy to rest in new space. The littles could sleep on daubed and trundle upstairs with us. And the oldest had a room to his own. Perfect!

Wonderful place, very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms could use updating, if that is important to you. There were beach towels as advertised. Other beach items come and go. When we left (aug. 2017) there were also 5 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, large beach blanket, small kids shovel and pail, boogie board (broken, but still fun), and we left a beach cabana. We highly recommend this rental!!!

Tom's place was perfect for our family. We had my husband and I, my parents and our two children, age two and three. My father uses a walker and Tom's place was accessible on the first floor, with only one small step inside and their bedroom downstairs. The rest of us were upstairs and there was plenty of room. There is no wall separating the twin bed area from the master bedroom area and it is all open to the downstairs. This worried me at first but was actually fine. With the fans going there was no issue with noise keeping us awake upstairs, if people were moving about or watching television downstairs. My 3 year old loved his little bedroom area and my 7 month old slept in a pack n play in the closet. It fit perfectly and was quiet in there with a fan going on him. The location is excellent, we love the feel of the north and the northern beaches the best on the island. Princeville center is perfect and only a 15 minute walk. It has restaurants and a Foodland grocery store. The prices aren't too bad there if you give them your phone number for a discount. We loved the trail down to Anini beach and my three year old had no problem doing it and we had a baby on our back. We stayed for ten nights and you do have to buy your own toilet paper, laundry soap and dish soap if you are staying for awhile, they provided enough only for a few days. Everything was great and we would definitely stay here again!

We had a very good time at Tom's apartment. I highly recommend this place to everybody who will stay in the North of Kauai.Tom is a great host as well! Thank you again.
