Response from Kathy:
As I said on the phone, my neighbour was having a birthday party for his 5 year old daughter so the parking was much busier than usual - it was a Sunday afternoon with about 10 visitors. I can’t make photos be anything other than photos. There are 17 of them. Also the words small, tiny and cosy are a clue if you had read the description . As is the very reasonable price. My review on Pamela: Pamela never actually stayed in my room. She clearly didn’t read any of the information about the space. She then arrived while I was out, decided the room was too small for her, left and cancelled. She sent me a text saying the room was unsuitable and too small and that she was cancelling. Among the many things she didn’t read (the two emails containing the full address, the extremely accurate room and house description) she also didn’t read the cancellation policy. I have mine set on medium. Air BNB’s algorithm then gave her a partial refund. This being the day of the booking. She wasn’t happy with this and sent me a request for money for the full price of the booking claiming that - the room was too small - the PORCH was too small - the kitchen was too small and cluttered - the ROAD outside was dirty (!?!) - the floor was dirty I declined. My description of the space uses words like “cosy” “small” and even “tiny” in describing the kitchen. It is a detailed and fair description of what is available. Plus there are 17 photos. (Not one of the porch. Funnily enough it doesn’t seem to be an issue for 99.9% of humans) she then got on to Air BnB to complain. Strangely they are still awaiting her proof of all her many issues so she isn’t getting a refund. Despite this, she’ll still get to review me. It’s guests like this that make me want to quit Air BnB. The room is £28 a night in a small Victorian terrace - was she expecting the Paris Ritz?
I love welcoming people into my home and really want my guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. I have 2 border collies (and a cat) and spend lots of time when I am not working as a Virtual Assistant out over the fields with the dogs.
