If Room 2 and/or 3 is available please do NOT choose room#1 if you do not need the handicap-accessible features. Very quiet and centrally located room to the Rapid City and the Black Hills of South Dakota.
This is a very private & quiet room.
Our listing is unique in that we are right off the Interstate with easy on-easy off yet the room is very quiet. Enter
to see what our building looks like.
Because we're just off the Interstate, everything you want to do is easily accessible by car.
This room is fully wheelchair accessible. Unlike most rooms that just put a bar or two in the bathroom, this room was designed for folks that must use a wheelchair.
The room has its own computer system with a large, flat screen TV with cable. If you have your own computer, you'll have full access to our WI-Fi.
In addition, our guests have a in-room fridge, two very top of the line, Queen sized hotel quality beds, full size coffee pot and your own full bathroom (with a tub, not just a shower!), that you don't have to share with anybody.
You'll even have your own parking space right by the entrance door.
We respect the privacy of our guests and these rooms are private rooms with your own secure entrance so you can come and go freely.
If during the daytime, M-F, you need information, suggestions or even driving directions, all you have to do is ask.
Other than that, no one will bother you.
What do we love about the neighborhood? One word....everything.
Rapid City has plenty of restaurants, shopping malls, lots of green spaces and the Black Hills.
If you've never seen the Black Hills, you'll understand why the Lakota Nation people consider the Black Hills sacred.
You'll fall in love with the Black Hills and its people like we did.
There is no public transit system to speak of like the big cities.
The best thing is have your own car but if you don't, there are plenty of car rentals (in the airport and in Rapid City) as well as taxi cabs.
There's even a limo service available to you if you want.
Folks, these are very nice rooms. You won't find another room like this anywhere in the area and certainly not in a hotel.
We are not greedy so we are always less expensive than the cheapest hotel chain in Rapid City (and you can imagine for yourself what that room is like) and I can assure you...folks, this is NOT one of those cheap rooms where if you want a cup of coffee, you have to go to the lobby, put the lukewarm coffee in a Styrofoam cup yourself because the person behind the counter has an attitude, maybe stir in sugar and something that resembles creamer that never seems to dissolve. In our rooms, you have a full size coffee pot (not one of these tiny 1 cup things some hotels use) with real sugar and creamer. (I've always disliked those stupid little things! One cup at a time? Really?)
You can probably find something cheaper if cheap is what you want but nothing like what we offer. (Cheap = uncomfortable beds, ((maybe bedbugs)), noisy, parking your car isn't near your door, old building, holes in the wall, no cable TV, you can forget Wi-Fi and lots of other things.) Most folks have come to learn the old adage, "You get what you pay for."
Just take a look at the pictures and the description and decide for yourself.
Upon arriving, you will park your vehicle in one of the parking spaces that has been reserved for you right by your entrance. If you have a second vehicle or a truck, there is plenty of secure parking for you.
You would then pick up the key card that will give you access through the doors to your private room. As this is a private room, you will have a full sized bathroom all to yourself. You will have full access to all amenities in the room.
You even have access to the snacks and the stocked dorm refrigerator. I would add that while coffee is free, the snacks and beer aren't. After all, would you want me to come in your house, eat all your food and drink all your beer without replacing it?
Interaction with guests
Oftentimes we are asked us how safe is our area? To us, that's a strange question because, well, this is Rapid City South Dakota. This isn't the "Big City" where all the doors are locked down all the time.
While we are in a nice and secure area (almost secluded), our areas are very secure with not only the local police patrols but also 24/7 cameras monitoring the full exterior of building and property as well as all common areas inside the building.
We very much respect the privacy of our guests. There's always someone available for you to ask questions, directions, etc., M-F, 9-5 Mountain Time.
If you have questions outside of that, you're always welcome to call. I would ask to use some common sense here and don't call me at 3:00 in the morning.
Other things to note
Folks, DO NOT assume you have a room if you just book it using the calendar on AirBnB. I have seen that calendar make mistakes and double-book! The ONLY time you have a guaranteed room is when you have received a confirmation from us. You MUST contact us first at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) to verify the room is available.
Sorry folks, we don't allow pets unless they are certified service animals.
Also, no one here speaks any language other than English.
How do we expect our guests to behave? That's easy. We expect folks to behave like if you were to invite us into your home, you would expect us to act right and to hold your property in the highest regard.
The two rules we live by in our own lives...
1. The Golden Rule....treat people like you'd like to be treated.
2. Don't do stupid. (Do I really need to explain what I mean by that?)
By the way...the entire building is No Smoking. If you smoke, the very sensitive fire alarm system will go off and there is a $250-$500 fine for that. (Trust me, you NEVER want that alarm to go off!! It will deafen you and you will NOT be able to shut it off.) In fact, the only ones that can turn it off is the alarm company...and they can take a couple of hours to get out there...during that time, you will have your neighbors really ticked off at you.
If you want to smoke, go outside and dispose of the butts properly into the utensil that is provided.
Sorry, because of previous bad experiences, the only pets that are allowed are small to mid-sized, non-aggressive breeds of dogs are allowed. This means no cats, gerbils, horses, pigs, snakes, gold fish, rabbits, parrots, chickens or any other such critter. (If you have a pet that falls into this category, call Motel 6.) Also, if you happen to have a service animal, remember the Common Sense Rules of being a grown up..."if they poop, you gotta scoop." After all, would you want me to come to your house with an animal, have them poop in your house and leave it for you to clean up?
