We had a really nice time in Bucco. The beaches are gorgeous, a short walk to Bucco beach, 10 minutes to Mt. Irvin. The Fish Tobago Guesthouse has a lovely ambience, clean, colorful, a nice green to sit in, a spacious kitchen to cook. One can bye fish at the dock from the fishermen. Brandon a native Tobagan was very helpful, traveled a lot himself and understands travelers needs.

Buccoo is the place where you'll find Sunday School -- probably the only thing we knew that we absolutely had to see when visiting Tobago, still we missed it since our 5 night stay in Buccoo did not have a sunday evening in it. All bad planning and poor research on my end. Still, Buccoo proved worth its while and our stay there was pleasant. Buccoo has two beaches located at a short walks distance from the guesthouse where we stayed, one to the north, reachable by a 5 minute walk in the direction of the golf course, and one the other direction, which can be reached from the main street in Buccoo, turning left at the jetty. This second beach is very long, and depending on the tide you may be able to reach No Mans Land from it, but it's not an easy walk, and I doubt that it's worth it. In particular there is an abandoned structure half way that you have to pass either in the water or on land, and it does not look easy. The Sandbank Room is located in something called Fish Tobago Guesthouse, a guesthouse with apartments each with cooking essentials, fridge, sink and all that, but the guesthouse also has a common area which can be used. At the time we visited another few apartments were under construction. We found the room and the guesthouse very pleasant, the air conditioning had an issue that was fixed within a few minutes as Brandon (the host) saw that it was dripping condensation water due to some bad drainage. Just outside the room there was a group of furniture we used as our own; a very enjoyable spot with just the right shade and wind conditions. Brandon almighty has this rare quality of making you feel welcome both by being very professional and by making you feel he's your best friend since years -- our visit came at a bad time since he had to attend the funeral of his grandma, so for this reason the place was half empty to make room for family that had to visit for the funeral. Instead of making himself unavailable he invited us all to the funeral party among all his family, and as we are scandinavian this was quite an unexpected and almost unreal experience. Brandons place is called "Fish Tobago Guesthouse" -- that pretty much says it all. If you're interested in fishing (or you like to think of fish as food), you want to see Tobago and a few of its most beautiful beaches that are only reachable from the sea in the company of somebody who knows them by heart, and you like the idea of living in guesthouse - this is the perfect place. In retrospect, I should have planned for a longer stay here.

I own the small guesthouse Fish Tobago Guesthouse in Buccoo in Trinidad & Tobago and I spend most of my time entertaining our guests at the guesthouse, making sure that they are having a great vacation. We provide a lot of different tours around the island and fishing trips as well.
I love to fish and spend as much time a possible on the sea trying to bring in some big ones.
Besides fishing my big passion is photography and I always have my camera at hand, whether it is for business or pleasure, I am always ready to capture the right moments on film.
