Experience the forest of NW Wisconsin at our cozy cabin situated on 40 acres of forest with 2 meadows & a small stream. Hike through gently rolling hills of oak, maple & evergreen stands... or just sit still and let nature rejuvenate you.
(We are dog friendly, we welcome well behaved dogs at the Blue Cabin, please let us know if you plan to bring your dog/s. There is a pet fee of $25/ dog, Thanks!)

The space
Here's what we will be doing to make the Blue cabin safer for everyone during Covid:
1. The cabin will be cleaned using an approved sanitizer.

2. We will be offering "Self Check In".

3.This is considered a fluid situation and subject to change. Let's get through this together.

The cabin is perfect for 2-4 people. (Rates are based on double occupancy. An additional fee of $25 per person per night will be automatically added when booking more than 2 people). 1 loft bedroom with one queen bed and additional full size futon bed in the loft sitting area and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The loft bedroom and loft sitting/sleeping area is an open space divided by a built in closet. Since the cabin has a loft and has a very open floor plan don't expect complete privacy. Of course, on the main level the bathroom & shower are private. Being that it is a open floor plan, in the winter the furnace fan can be heard throughout the cabin. For light sleepers, foam ear plugs work well.
4. Dogs: we welcome well behaved dogs at the cabin, please note: there is a $25/dog pet fee. You can add your dogs as ‘guests’ when you make your reservation.
** New.. Nothings better than a good nights sleep, so we added 3" memory foam toppers to the beds.
We have also added a new Samsung heater/ AC unit. It can be used to condition the indoor space with out having to have the noise of the furnace fan. ** the Samsung unit has outdoor temperature operational limits ( 0 to 90).
**All guests are required to read and abide by "House rules" and all information pertaining to the blue cabin and land listed on this AIRBNB site.
Update 2021: We did complete building the new house. In the summer you can't see the house because of the trees. The cabin windows face the forest. Just know, we are sensitive to our guests experience and respect your privacy.

Birchwood is about 6 miles away. Restaurants- see the provided folder.
Hayward is about 15+ miles due north. Its easy to get to and offers some good restaurants, bars and of course the Fishing Hall of Fame is a fun stop. Hayward, Spooner or Stone Lake are nice little towns for a short trip. Hayward is known for hosting the annual "Birkie" Birkebeiner cross country ski race in February. During the "Birkie" Hayward comes alive and is quite festive and fun so make your reservations early.

Your neighbors may be furry and can have sharp teeth. ;-)

We are artists and entrepreneurs and enjoy taking on a challenge, like rescuing this cabin from the encroaching forest. 10 years on, the cabin is ready for company.
This was our weekend retreat that we would love to share with more people.
We wanted a wild place that would bring unexpected experiences. Like seeing owls, porcupine, deer, bear, wolves, grouse, eagles, flowers like trillium, marsh marigolds, assorted fungi, monarchs and fireflies. This is the forest! Its not a park or a KOA. (Bring good boots).
We also produce our Sugar Moon Maple Syrup from the sugar maples on the land.
We think traveling is important to gain a fresh perspective, and to learn about ourselves and other people. We love Paris, Key West, Denver, San Francisco and Tokyo. On the motorcycle, we like to experience the wide open spaces of South Dakota and Montana, the rugged Tetons and the north shore of Lake Superior. Will travel for food and music.

** Spring/Summer/Fall is Project time!- There is no shortage of work to do with 40 acres of forest. We are constantly working on maintenance & improvements to the Land/Cabin/New Buildings/Trails etc. You name it, We do it! :))
We try to do most of the work during the week, but sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate with our plan. You might see or hear us… but then again, you might not.
