It is a separate vintage mobil home that has been brought up to the cozy cottage feel of the present day. It is set on a 125 year old orchard maintained for 45 years by us. 3mi from ferry (nice for bicyclists) 7 miles to Eastsound.
480 sq feet lets our guest have private space with 2 bedrooms. Also a deck outside adds room on nice days and the propane fireplace will add cozy warmth on the days you want to stay in to journal or write that great novel.
We have 5 acres with an orchard, garden, pond and a barn where my art studio is. You can sit by the pond and walk around the property.
Interaction with guests
We will for the most part be on the property during your stay and will be happy to answer any questions about our place and the island.
Other things to note
It is on a paved county road with light traffic but the area is divided into 5 acre parcels so it is pretty quiet.
You will also need to make ferry reservations at the Washington State Ferry San Juan Island's web site. You book a round trip and be sure to press the Finalize button to know you have made it all the way through. It is a bit confusing. The reservations are just that, you pay the round trip ticket at the Anacortes terminal. The spaces are released in tiers of 2 months then 2 weeks then 2 days before your date so log on to the web site at 7am and you can pretty much count on getting your space. No need for reservations for a bike or walk on passengers. Our Water on the Island is precious please conserve.
Please conserve water. Your hot water tank is only 15 gallons, so a quick shower is advised. We have a limited supply by a well. Also our septic system can only handle toilet paper. Be sure to notice that the toilet has stopped running to conserve water.
Please respect our neighbors and us with quite by 10:00PM.
No Smoking anywhere on premises and no pets. Thank You for your attention to a sensitive environment.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

Bob is an experienced sailor and catches crab when the season is open.
I am a working artist and have a studio space in the barn pictured on the photos.
We have created a sweet space to have some guests that want to experience the peace and beauty of this beautiful island. Sailing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, whale watching, or just being still……you are in the right place.
