Enjoy the Caribbean breeze while lounging in the large screened in veranda -allowing the waves off the Barrier Reef to lull you. Julia Roberts stayed in this very home (in the 1990’s) as did Madonna, so you know the location is great!

We (myself, hubby and bff) were traveling to Belize for my 40th birthday. I chose this particular listing of Corrina’s because of the location and the positive comments/feedback that had been left. We had some bumps along the way at first with communication. I think Corrina just had a lot going on and I’m a Type A who likes to have things planned out. So, I just ended up planning our excursions and dinner reservations instead of relying upon her to do those things. We thought the location was perfect-close to town, restaurants, bars, shops-even the airport is within walking distance! What wasn’t clear is that there is no real beach out front. You are directly on the water but if you want to lay down or simply sit to read a book you’ll need to head in either direction to find actual beach. And the house itself is actually part of a small building of condos. There are units above and to either side with a fair amount of foot traffic although we never found noise to be an issue. Corrina did meet us when we arrived at the house and was very nice, explaining how the hot water works (you do have plenty but the water pressure is very low-probably an island thing) where to go for lunch, giving us our phone to use for local calls etc. Eloy, the driver she had pick us up from the airport was very accessible and we scheduled rides with him when we needed them. We loved Blue Water Grill (ate there on sushi night and a regular menu night), Hurricanes for drinks and ceviche (James was the best), Estels for fry jacks and you MUST go to Maria’s vegetable/fruit stand which is a block behind the house on front street. She makes the best fresh juices that go perfectly with coconut rum. We went parasailing, rented a jet ski, snorkeled Hol Chan and Shark/Ray Alley. We also took a day trip to Xunantunich and went cave tubing. Both were fantastic and you get to see a lot of the country side as Xunan is located on the Guatemalan border. We used Mundo Maya for that tour and they were good-just be sure and tell them which airport in Belize City you’re flying in to! Highly recommend a private charter flyover (through Tropic Air) of the Blue Hole too. As others have said, the house could use some updating (door to front porch area didn’t lock-although we had no issues, pipe had been leaking from unit above so it looked like some mold had started to form in bathroom) but the AC was cold, the bed was comfortable and the location was safe, great for those that like to people watch and be close to the action but not smack on top of it.

Travel to Ambergris Caye was a bit crazy (thanks United) and we ended up arriving two days late. Thankfully Ms. Taylor was flexible and allowed us to extend our stay by two days. I highly recommend paying the extra money and using Nautilus water taxi for transportation from Belize City to San Pedro rather than taking the public ferry. Ms. Taylor made the arrangements but I recommend working with them directly in the event you encounter travel bumps (as we did). The outside of the house is beautiful to view from the Oceanside. The inside is sufficient but is in need of some tender loving care. The main bathroom had a water leak from the ceiling which splashed near the toilet and shower. The shower had no lever to turn the water on. The master bedroom had a leak near the AC which left a puddle in the middle of the floor. The AC did work well and kept us nice and cool. We loved the veranda and spent our mornings and evenings there. It is important to note that when you are told something will occur, it may not occur, or it will likely be late. Ms. Taylor arranged a golf cart, bikes, and a cell phone which was helpful. There was no house cleaning nor restocking of shampoo, paper towels, or toilet paper. However, when we informed Ms. Taylor, she came with fresh towels and sheets. There was no dryer (as stated in the listing) however when asked, Ms. Taylor clarified that meant hair dryer. Snorkel gear was not provided (as stated in the listing) but it can be rented. As with most places in Belize, the location does not have a beach to walk out on and swim. However, the yacht club pier is nearby and has a ladder for swimmers to use. All excursions were on time and picked us up from the Yacht Club pier. I recommend booking excursions on your own prior to the trip as many excursion (e.g. Blue hole) require a minimum of participants. The house is located in a busy area with little privacy. If you are looking for a more low key area, then this place is not for you. If you want to be within walking distance to the stores and restaurants and part of the action, then this place is for you.

Response from Corrina:
Thanks again Michelle for choosing our home for your vacation destination here on Ambergris Caye - I'm so happy we had those 2 extra days available for you to enjoy your full week on the island and yes, Nautilus Express I highly recommend as well. Michelle, the owner, is great to work with and I'm so thankful she agreed with me on refunding your transfer on your day of arrival instead of charging you. Team Nautilus rocks! My sincerest apologies for the insufficiencies. Regarding the drops of water from the ceiling in the guest bathroom..the owner of the unit above us was unavailable and unaware of his leaky pipes and we were unable to remedy the problem before your arrival. It was my bad to assume it would be alright with the small leak mainly being over the shower head. This has now been repaired. I wish I'd known the AC in the Master bedroom was dripping as I would have dealt with it at once and could have fixed it the day I came over and made up the beds. It is a brand new split unit so thank goodness it worked well! Regarding timing...I agree with you to note that one is no longer in their homeland but on a beautiful little island in the middle of the Caribbean Sea that moves to its own (URL HIDDEN) that usually works well for most who are on vacation trying to escape their scheduled lives but not for those who desire organized punctuality...this island definitely runs on "Island Time".... something I myself have had to become accustom to. I'm glad you enjoyed the golf cart...its definitely a great way to explore the island. And I'm delighted to hear you appreciated the bikes I rented for (URL HIDDEN) was perfect weather for a cruise along the beach on your beach cruisers :) With regards to restocking - there was extra paper towel in the drawer beside the garbage and toilet paper under the sink in the Master Bathroom. I am no longer providing shampoo/body products as most guests bring their own products and I find much goes to waste. However, I would have brought you more products had I known you required them. I have NO IDEA why it states I have a dryer but doesn't state I have hair dryers, an iron, and cable TV...all amenities that I have. I will be inquiring of this with AirBnB as these were details I entered when listing on AirBnB. We do not have a washing machine or dryer but we do have a great laundry service that offers free delivery/pick up. Snorkel gear has been removed from items I offer as they tend to be misused and lost for the most part. However, one can rent snorkel gear from the local dive shop located right out front of the house for only $5/day. Location, location, location....we definitely have neighbours at certain times throughout the year but not always....usually between December - April. The pier and dock is one of my favourite spots to swim as we have friendly dolphins visit in the mornings and an array of juvenile fish to swim with all day long. I hope you had the pleasure of seeing the dolphins and other wildlife that tend to hang out in that area of the ocean! Once again, thank you for staying with us and I truly appreciate your feedback. Respectfully, Corrina

This property has a million dollar view and location. We loved the view of the ocean from the screened in front porch and especially appreciated the cooling breezes. Even on the honest days, the air conditioner was not needed. The property is ideally located close to grocery stores, bakery, vegetable and fruit stands, as well as a liquor store at the end of the street. We could easily walk up the beach to dozens of great eating and drinking establishments. We spend three weeks and would definitely consider coming back. Fixtures are a little dated, but added to the charm of the place. Corrina, is an exceptional host, friendly, caring and accommodating.

My experience with this property and my host was nothing short of impecable. Corrina was more than willing to do all she could to make my journey and living condition exceptional. Corrina willingly coordinated my water taxi upon arrival and my flight reservations upon my departure. At the time of my visit to Belize, Corrina was on vacation in Canada, however, this did not deter her from taking care of her guest. The location of the property is to die for, it is immaculate, the view is nothing less than mesmerizing. Corrina also had a caretaker in her absence that I would like to acknowledge as well, her name is Teresa. The first couple of days there, I called teresa so many times, I got tired, however, each time I called, Teresa was always ready, willing and able to assist me any issue I had. You could hear it in her voice that she was there to help in any way she could.Corrina is lucky to have a representative as caring as Teresa. Anyone considering a visit to Belize, Ambergris Caye, in San Pedro, and you want a great location, this is the place for you.

This place was amazing and so was the host Corrina. To start she helped make our arrangements for the transfer from Belize airport to San Pedro. We were greeted and picked up on a golf cart and taken right to her place. It was everything and more. San Pedro was amazing and if you are looking to visit, please stay here - you will not be disappointed!
