Nestled on 5 forested acres with hiking trails starting in our backyard, we offer privacy and seclusion while located 30 minutes from both downtown Seattle and the heart of the Cascade Mountains.

The space

A peaceful bedroom with a queen sized bed on our ground floor offers views of the forest located fifty feet from your window. An additional private guest room has a marvelous seating area for your family and friends, and the sofa converts into a double bed. An electric tea kettle allows you to brew your morning cup of tea or coffee in privacy. There is a dorm sized refrigerator and microwave for your exclusive use. Private bathroom has tub and shower.

Guest access

Access to your quarters is through the ground-level garage or a side door at the back side of the house. Covered parking is in the middle stall.T he upstairs part of the house is occupied by Dave, Sara, our chocolate lab Lucy, and kittens Minerva and Arthur. Our wrap-around porch has a covered veranda and a warm sun deck. Our campfire circle is an added delight with marshmallows and sticks to assemble s'mores. Whether you are hiking on our trails or nearby Tiger Mountain, Mt. Si, or one of the other dozens of great local hikes, our home's woodsy feel will enhance your outdoor experience.

Interaction with guests

We love showing off our gorgeous haven in the Pacific NW, and will recommend places to eat, hike, bike, swim, camp and more, all over the region. We love meeting new people, but are happy to give you total privacy during your visit if that is your preference.

Other things to note

Set up a tent! If you want to give your children an outdoor experience but you want a proper bed and shower - we are perfectly set with a flat camping area and a fire circle.

We have a chocolate lab, Lucy, and two young cats, Minerva and Arthur. We welcome dogs and charge a $15 fee. (Pet scholarships available - just ask.)

The most beautiful house tucked away in the forest. Great space and really comfortable bed. We so enjoyed our stay and chance to recharge our batteries, we were only sorry it was so short! The kitty cat was super cute and I got lots of snuggles :)

Lovely forest setting. 2 great rooms and a nice bathroom meet the needs of up to 4 guests. We were given a spot in the garage to park, and the guest space has its own entrance. Sara is a lovely person who enjoys people. She and her husband and sweet dog Lucy made fab hosts. I hope to return. North Bend and Issaquah are easily accessible from Sara's place. We also made a lovely visit to the Snoqualmie Railway Museum which my son, grandson, and I thoroughly enjoyed. The fall colors were in their full splendor; what a treat!

Awesome experience. Wonderful accommodations which suited us perfectly. Our pond project was 1 mile away in Mitchell Hill which made our commute very easy. Very quite. Highly recommend. 5 star

I like to be either very active - swimming, skiing, running, hiking, or playing tennis, or I like to sit with a cup of tea and a suspenseful novel. And of course, a homemade cookie to go with that tea is always a good thing.
