I have never written a review like this so take notice that it is genuine.
If you have low expectations you can stay here. The owner writes that the accommodation is unpretentious and justifies the price. But if you look on Airbnb you will see much better places for the same price. Unfortunately none were available when we needed to book.
They show a family in the photo and the description said it was on the ground floor and in a house so we thought they lived upstairs in the house. There is no house-only flats, all look old and neglected. They show a table in the garden, there is no garden-only a driveway for four cars. There are weeds everywhere, no care of the garden and rubbish near the first house.
My husband thought it was faintly cheerful but I was not as positive about it. There was a slow progression as we found out the faults, one by one.
There is only a hand-held shower so we had to tie up the shower head with a rope and attach it to a broom handle. Always get a photo of the shower. Note: bring string. Very stained old toilet and a tiny basin.
The bed looks OK in the photo- until we sat on it. There is a LOUD squeaking noise every time you move. All (URL HIDDEN) was a symphony of squeaking!!! Very bad and possibly the noisiest bed I have ever tried to sleep in.
Kitchen: Do not use the oven, a black smoke comes out from it. Good gas cooktop and a microwave, kettle and toaster.
There is only a saucepan and a frypan and they are old and worn. There is cutlery. No plates, bowls or coffee cup. Some glasses. The small bar fridge has an open freezer with no door. Was not defrosted before we arrived so big ice build-up. You must be careful to push the door shut as it sticks on the cupboard and will be open but you won't notice.
Exterior: Don't be fooled by the family photo or the table and chairs outside.
There are four cars that use the driveway so there is never any space to sit outside. There is no garden, no outside space at all. If you are at this place then you only have interior and it is very gloomy and grim.
Parking: On the street 9am-12 and afternoon 2pm-5pm is paid parking. Do not leave your car in the street or the Italian carpark outside the wall. If you look on the ground you will see window glass everywhere, also on the rue Remparts. Insist that your car is in the driveway with the other cars. Our car window was smashed and we had to spend 2 days with Peugeot to repair it.
If you usually stay in average quality places then don't stay here.
