Besides being in a small historical district, near public transportation and only one hour from downtown Los Angeles by train, our neighborhood is culturally diverse, with several languages being spoken. e.g. Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin. We're very near the famous Babette's French Bakery, which serves breakfast and lunch; a big grocery store, Smart and Final, with excellent fruit-veggie-cheese selections; Thai, Subway and Pho Restaurants, just past the Smart&Final, on Anaheim. There's a coffee-donut shop at Elm & Anaheim and we're a short ride or nice walk to great restaurants on Pine St, the beach - with walking and bike paths - a dog park, golf, marinas, bike rental, movie theaters, a world-class Aquarium and "The Queen Mary". Pine St and 2nd St have lots of restaurants and clubs and there are also great shopping areas - 4th St has several vintage shops and 2nd street is filled with trendy boutiques.

I share an old 1912 home with my husband, son and pets. We have rescued dogs and also foster cats, so the number varies, and we've been Airbnb hosts for 3 years! It has been a completely enriching experience! I feel that my 32 years of teaching public speaking at UCLA Extension and giving workshops around the world has helped to prepare me for Airbnb. And my husband, Rick, has also worked abroad and speaks 6 languages, plus understands many more! Our son, Eric, is a huge help to us, while he does his perler bead art for the ComiCon and studies welding. Rick and I plan to visit his family outside Rome this year, while Eric will hold down the fort and keep the pets hydrated!

Because of the Omicron Variant, our kitchen and the Continental breakfast are temporarily suspended. Light laundry sometimes done for 5+ night guests, schedule permitting - or washer & dryer available to them. Sometimes available to recommend sites and activities (Travel/tourism expert on site!) My husband speaks 6 languages fluently - English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Serbo-Croatian.
