A spacious open planned flat with a brand new bathroom and kitchen.
Although it's only a few minutes walk to the bustling Central, Soho and LKf, it's a quiet neighbourhood called Po Hing Fong, which is full of interesting art galleries, cafes, cool bars and restaurants. Its located in the oldest area of Hong Kong and is a few meters away from the beautiful Medical Museum, which is worth visiting.

The space

The space is unique because it oozes tranquility and calm. It has dark brown bamboo barn like flooring and a teal blue wall behind the bed which is very calming. The blackened blinds will keep out any sunlight to give you a beautiful nights sleep.,The kitchen is open planned and it doesn't feel pokey but rather specious. The walls are super thick, so no noise from neighbours.
Cockroaches: I have only encountered one whilst living in my place for over three years. If you meet one, don't panic, they are harmless and must be useful for something, so I wouldn't kill them. You can throw a tea towel over it, they are quite fast runners and then you can let them go

Guest access

Wifi, TV, espresso machine, blender, oven, AC

Interaction with guests

As my place isn't easy to find I do want to be available for every tenant when they arrive, by telephone or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), so should they encounter problems finding the place, I can talk to the cabbie, give better directions etc.
If everything is fine with the flat then I'm happy to not be in touch.

Other things to note

Location: it's just off Hollywood Road, up towards the mountain, the house is in a cul de sac, therefore very quiet. Even though a big hospital Tung Hua is diagonally opposite, there is never any noise or ambulance sirens etc; it is very convenient and easy to get a taxi.

This is a true home away from home. I loved both the flat and the neighbourhood with all its shops, bars and restaurants. Even though you're right in the middle of everything, the flat is quiet (and the bed is comfy!) Loved the coffee maker once I figured it out :) Julia is super responsive. There were some issues with the automated lock but Julia helped out immediately even though she was away. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed 4 days early July and there was a full scale renovation 9-6pm with drilling and hammering noise, construction dust and constant people noise. There was coachroaches daily basis partly escaping from the neighboring unit and partly from the host's personal stuff left at the unit. I planned a month stay per the apartment description but couldn't stay any longer than 4 days. All thanks to Airbab solutions team.

Response from Julia:
The renovation works next door are out of my control and they were performed during normal business hours, which is completely acceptable. Had I known the tenant would work from my home all day, then I would have mentioned it. However I also didn't know that next door hadn't yet finished their renovations; it took longer than foreseen. I was apologetic and dealt with the situation immediately from abroad, so she could leave after four days already, at no cost. It is a pity as the guest before wanted to stay on for three weeks despite the noise, as the guest was out working and it didn't bother her.

I had just moved to HK and had a great 3 week stay at Julia's place, so I highly recommend it for any HK newbie or tourist. It looks even better in real life - suitable for 1-2 pax. She was lovely every step of the way and was helpful in answering any questions that I had. The building itself is strategically located in Sheung Wan - it's quiet but there's a 7-11 and nice restaurants and delis down the road. It's a little tricky to find - Just make sure you tell the cabbie "Po Yan Street / Po Yan Kai" and then take a short uphill walk instead of trying to look for "Po Hing Mansion" and risk getting lost. The entry to the building and into the studio is keyless so it makes things much easier. The studio is bright, spacious, modern, well thought-out and fully equipped with everything you need. The wifi is fast and the water pressure is great. When I stayed there, there was renovation taking place next door, so there was a bit of noise and dust coming in, but if you're out during the day, you wouldn't notice it. Once you walk down Po Yan Street, it's easy to flag down cabs because they will come in to drop passengers off at Tung Wah Hospital. Overall, I had a great stay at Julia's place and I wish I could've stayed longer, just that her place is simply too popular!

The apartment is clean, comfortable, and modern. It was a little tricky to find, but Julia provided clear instructions, and once I got in, it turned out to be a fine place to spend a week. Note that it is a few blocks up a somewhat steep hill. May be tricky if you have a lot of luggage or limited mobility.

Passionate about the environment, I discovered the wonder plant bamboo and started my own bamboo business and brand Bamboa in 2008 ( I run a home and lifestyle boutique at PMQ, Soho, Central in Hong Kong. I love hiking, canoeing, yoga and enjoy the cultural scene in Hong Kong.
