Stay in a gipsy caravan equipped with a real double bed and use the tipi as your lounge area. Set in the south of Luxembourg, in a beautiful garden filled with fruit trees, overlooking a landscape where nature meets industry.
Alternatively, celebrate your birthday or a family reunion in our private garden. BBQ, play horseshoe, sit by the fire. Possibility to rent a house a house which sleeps 7 people to come with it.
The gipsy style caravan and tipi sit in our garden giving access to a private garden area. Ideal for a BBQ, reading a book, playing horseshoe, picking fruits, playing games or snoozing in the hammock.
I am leaving the calendar for booking the caravan open during winter, not for sleeping in the caravan but for those who might be interested to book it for a birthday afternoon or a team-building meeting.
The caravan is the main sleeping space, hosting a double bed and little seating area. This seating area could potentially be used for a child to sleep on (140cm long x 70cm wide). It has 5 windows with shutters and light coming through the partial glass door. The caravan can be locked. It features beautiful wooden carving, is made of solid wood, has quirky little cupboards, a big storage area under the bed and electricity. There a quite a few plugs dotted around the caravan.
The tipi is located right next to the caravan. Equipped with an oak wooden floor, a fireplace (14kw) a few arm chairs, table, coffee table and sofa bed. It is ideally used as a lounge. The tipi looks directly into the garden which is filled with solar lamps which come on at night. You are surrounded by fields. This is a very private spot with a great view.
Both Tipi and Caravan have electricity. There's a wifi repeater located at the caravan. I manage to stream netflix there but it's not always the best wifi. Somedays I manage to get it at the tipi but not always at this stage.
There's an electric radiator in the caravan plus a very good duvet to get you through the night. The radiator has a thermostat which helps you set the temperature for the night and regulates itself.
The garden is adjacent to our house. The basement gives access to a toilet, shower and kitchenette. There's currently no stove in the kitchen and no microwave. However, there's a fridge, sink, kettle, glasses, plates, cutlery and a coffee maker. There's a Weber BBQ by the tipi. The kitchenette has a table and chairs. The table used to be my grandmothers and so you'll find that all our things in there have a story. Both the kitchenette and bathroom are old yet in good condition and clean. You also get a key for the garage.
This location is also great for events - birthdays for all ages, family reunions and more.
You'll have access to all areas described above plus the laundry room.
Interaction with guests
I usually let people check-in and then meet them again at check-out. If guests have any questions they can contact me directly, whether you'd like recommendations or find a way to permanently move to Luxembourg.
Other things to note
The tipi and caravan experience are those who like a little adventure. While the caravan definitely guarantees a dry sleep, it has one drawback: you feel most movements when you walk in it or even if you turn a lot in your sleep because it stands on wheels .
The entire experience is of course weather dependent although the tipi with a cosy fire definitely does great in cool conditions.
Although the garden has a lot of privacy, the caravan is more visible to neighbours. I am planning to add a hedge so you can go in and out of the caravan without being seen my neighbours but I need to plant this after summer. The tipi has more privacy and once you walk beyond the tipi no one can really see you anymore.
You will have to walk through the garage to get to the kitchenette and bathroom. It's a garage so it isn't the prettiest/tidiest space.
Wood for the tipi fire is provided. Also provided are 2 waterproof ponchos, towels, shower gel and toilet paper.
Both the tipi and caravan are very personal to me. I dreamt about owning a tipi for 6 years. Although I am renting it out, it's very precious to me. I would ask for people to treat it as such.
This is a residential area and so far I got on really well with my neighbours. I would like to keep it that way :)
Please don't access the upstairs of the house.
I am a freelancer working in Luxembourg. I do translations for clients and consult them on advertising and media strategies. I have previously run a film studio in Luxembourg and generally tend to be involved with creative projects. I like open minded and honest people who care about a real exchange. I like socialising but my massive party days are probably over. I prefer getting up a little earlier nowadays to do something healthy like yoga or skateboarding. Chatty, friendly and respectful, I have travelled to many places and lived in the US and Japan for a short while.
