Petra and Robert are lovely hosts. The room was very cozy and clean so we really felt comfortable. Amsterdam Central is easy to reach if you want to go there, but Haarlem is also charming for a shopping trip and there are many restaurants. Keep on going guys. I'm sure this wasn't our last booking. :)

Petra&Robert's attic room (just as the stairway and the bathroom) is lovely, very well-kept, clean, and decorated with a lot of love for details. The room has a lot of windows and is bright and welcoming. Beware that, if you are staying in the room during hot weather, it might become quite warm inside (attic, a lot of windows). Check-in was super easy, with the key-box system installed outside. Petra provided a lot of information on how to get to the house, how to access it and also on sight-seeing and other tourist attractions around Haarlem. The neighbourhood is quiet and idyllic - if you arrive by public transport (bus), you need to calculate a 10-15 min walk to the house from the bus stop. The center of Haarlem is accessible by foot (20-25 min), as are the larger grocery shops nearby (20-25 min walk to the next supermarket).

Very cute accomodation in a great location, perfect to see a quieter side of the Netherlands with all the charm of Amsterdam but less hustle and bustle. Walking distance to trains/city centre + lots to see on the way!

The house is very good . We almost travel 80 bus to the main station to Amsterdam. It is very convenient. The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom is clean and tidy. It is a comfort stay. Next time when I go to Amsterdam,I will choose this house again.

Haarlem is pretty small and I easily walked to the far west side of it from Petra's place in about half an hour. It's close to a canal that has swans, ducks, and herons lounging around it if you like to sit and just be. There's even a little herring food truck close by! We had a car with us and there was always enough room to park it out front for free. I don't think you really need a car if you're only planning to stay near Haarlem and don't mind walking a smidge. There's a bus stop near by and it's easy to get to Spaarnwoude (twenty-ish minute walk) if you want to get to Amsterdam Centraal, but I would suggest you get an ovchipkaart BEFORE getting to Petra's. I think it's also a short bus ride to the beach and national park west of Haarlem. The check in process was the easiest I have had yet. The lock box is easy to operate and Petra provided really clear instructions on how to open the front door. As with almost any place you'll stay in Haarlem and Amsterdam, there are two flights of steep stairs to get up to the room, but we've never had a problem with those. The bathroom is shared, but it's in a 'neutral' zone, so you don't really notice that you're sharing it. The floor is heated and the shower is a nice size with easy controls, and both a shower head and sprayer wand. The room has windows on both the north and south side, and they open, so it's easy to get a nice cool breeze going. There were occasional mosquitoes, so be careful about that. The bed was quite comfy and there were plenty of options for covers if you like it minimal or heavy. Our only complaint is minimal, and it is that the wireless network doesn't work super well while sitting in bed. It works the best while sitting at the table, so it's a bit difficult to do in-bed browsing, but not a deal breaker.

Hello our dear friends!

We are two young expats, originally from Czech Republic, happily living and working in The Netherlands. We love traveling, enjoying good food & wine and meeting new people.

When traveling, cleanness and comfort is really important for us. Therefore we do our best to apply the same rules when hosting others here at Airbnb :)

Feel free to send a message if you have any questions and enjoy your stay :)
