Our little one bedroom house is perfect for two. Walking distance to the city, it provides a great base to visit Carcassonne and many other Cathar castles. It's has a private shower room and kitchen, as well as access to our garden.
We provide bedsheets, towels, coffee and tea facilities, as well as the basic for the kitchen (salt pepper vinegar and olive oil), and many more details :)

The space

Our one bedroom apartment is excellently located near by the Carcassonne city, near by a public paying carpark. It also belong to the naïf painter artist Marie Saleun, whom has her art work shop next door.
This little place is cosy and well decorated, simple yet cosy.

Guest access

Guest have access through Marie's main access, however they have total privacy as the flat's door has its own lock.
The flat is composed of one bedroom, a bathroom, and a little kitchen. Guest can also enjoy some of the garden to enjoy their food or just take it easy.

Interaction with guests

Marie Saleun, the naïf artist living at the end of the garden, is very present as she lives in the house at the end of the garden and spends most of her time working at her art workshop next door, her garden or just decorating her house.

Other things to note

Well first thing first: you have to visit Carcassonne. Marie will tell you all about the places of interest in The city, including the best places to eat!

Marie's place is in a great location with a 5 minute walk to the 'Cite'. The apartment is small and cosy as shown in the images. Marie is eager to help and offered many suggestions during our stay.

A unique little apartment for a short stay. Marie was friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was as pictured. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace in the evenings (remember your insect repellent if you plan to do this).

We have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the studio in Carcassonne. It is a lovely space and a really good location to explore the city. There was a tranquil garden for relaxing and a parking space which were very welcome additions. Marie was a perfect host, really informative & interesting to talk with and we enjoyed seeing all of her creative artwork. We would definitely recommend staying here and would like to thank Marie and Chéri for making us feel so welcome :)

If you are looking for a place very near the cité, but without the feel of being in the cité, then this is the place to be. Marie is a wonderful hoast, makes you feel more than welcome. We loved her garden, had our breakfast there every morning and relaxed with a glass of wine in the evenings after a full day of sight seeing. Marie gave us very good advice on where to eat and what to visit. Le Jardin d' été acrossed the street was a pleasant surprise. L' Escargot in the citë is a must go and if you want to taste the best cassoulet, you need to go to Le Tirou in Castelnaudary. Try the boudin aswell. Marie is an artist and you can find her work all around the house. All come with their own story. We had a wonderful time. A bientôt!

We stayed 4 nights in Marie's studio and it was lovely. It is simple but has exactly what you need (kitchen, bathroom and bed) but with the added creative touch of Marie's wonderful art and conversation. You stay in the front end of the house, whereas Marie lives at the back of the garden. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden, looking for the tortoise (!) and reading and the stay was very quiet and calm. The location for the cité is also perfect as it is a few roads away and Marie recommended us some amazing restaurants that are a stones throw away. Wholeheartedly recommended and we look forward to seeing where the story of the room goes next!

This is a charming little apartment literally 5 minutes from the old city. It is so comfortable. It has a beautiful seating area outside which given warm weather would be a beautiful place to sit. I visited Carcassonne during the wettest week this summer!!!!!!! What I loved most was that it was quirky and different. Isabelle has perfect English and was very prompt and helpful. Marie the owner was exceptionally helpful and gave very good advice regarding the area and places to eat. I will return for sure.
