This beautifully renovated 1930s cabin is tucked into a hillside on Fitch Mountain. Come enjoy the peace and serenity the mountain offers while still being just 10 minutes from the plaza and the many activities offered in and around Healdsburg.
Hidden away on a hilltop, this two bedroom cabin is ideal for a couple and can accommodate two couples if you're good friends (bedrooms are close together and share one bathroom). It's surrounded by beautiful views of vineyards and forests. The morning sun through the trees will make this serene getaway feel magical and secluded, though the lively Healdsburg plaza is just three miles away. The porch is furnished with plush chairs and sofas perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. This cabin is uniquely refurbished using american clay walls and low VOC paints in the most environmentally friendly reconstruction process possible. As soon as you set foot inside you'll feel how welcoming it is. A three-day stay is ideal - spend one day shopping and wine tasting on the Plaza, a second on a country or coastal drive, and a third enjoying the peace and comfort of the cabin, and hiking the open space just behind the house or sitting by the river.
There's a gorgeous, sheltered but open porch, and a flagstone patio with adirondack chairs, a bbq, and a firepit. Guests have access to two flat screen TV's (32 and 48 inch) as well as high speed wireless internet access and Netflix streaming. There's also a small speaker in the kitchen which you can connect to via bluetooth or cord to play your own tunes.
Interaction with guests
We know part of the fun of renting a house is pretending it's yours, so we don't plan to bother you - and we hope you enjoy the feeling that it's really and truly all yours. We'll send you complete directions before you come. We're always available by phone, text, or email, and are happy to make recommendations for outings and dining, and we have an in-town contact for emergencies.
Other things to note
The house is gorgeous and comfy and all on one level but since it's on a hill, there are a few steps to go up from the driveway. In town you have access to kayak/canoe/bike rentals and a multitude of first class eating establishments and shopping, and there are hundreds of wineries in the surrounding area.
Please make yourself at home; all we ask is that you treat the home as your own when caring for it.
Minimum age to rent the FMR is 30 years old.
The primary person who rents the FMR is responsible for all of these rules, and the management of any other party joining them. (One couple rents for a stay that includes another couple, for instance). See Garbage Rules as a fine will be imposed for any mis-management of the disposal of trash.
Strict noise/quiet rules for Sonoma County: Quiet hours from 10pm-8am. If we hear from neighbors or Police, grounds for eviction and forfeiture of deposit.
Please use "inside" voices outside as a general rule: on the covered porch, there is an "amphitheater effect" which projects out into the neighborhood, FYI.
GARBAGE ISSUES: Unfortunately, our guests have been putting their garbage in our neighbors bins (despite super-clear directions, this seems to happen when the responsible party delegates the departure responsibilities to friends)...A $50 fine will be imposed if we hear that your garbage has ended up in our neighbors bin. Please take a moment to look at the "Garbage/Recycling" information sent with your arrival packet.
Sonoma County also limits the number of guests allowed to stay over (4) and the total number of cars allowed on the property at a given time (2).
Please smoke only on the flagstone patio (not on the covered porch!) by the fire-pit.
There may be wood for fires, but we suggest you bring some up or buy some when you shop.
We welcome your well-behaved, smallish dog ($25 per night additional). Please pick up after the pooch...there are doggie bags provided.
We also ask that you accompany your dog at all times...we require that you do not leave the dog alone in the FMR at any time, either in the house or on the property.
For those attending weddings or other events, please plan accordingly. We have had one renter who has arranged for a dog-sitter to come out and stay with their dog. We are ok with this, please give us the name of the dog-sitter so we also may contact that person directly.
No cats, sorry.
Thanks for respecting our "rules" and helping us to continue to integrate and introduce our guests to the wonders of Fitch Mountain.
