We are thrilled to share our Pine Cone Cottage!
Why Pine Cone Cottage? Why not? If you are lucky, you can enjoy swinging in the hammock gazing up at the pine tree while you hear the ocean not far away, reverberating through the canyon...
Our quaint cabin is on the back of our one acre property. Located in the Tecolote Canyon, a rural ranch neighborhood; you will find yourself close to Haskell's Beach, amazing hikes, quick freeway access to downtown SB!

The space

This is a very quiet, peaceful and serene neighborhood and we welcome guests who are looking for an equally peaceful and serene getaway….we are unable to host dogs and cats at this time as much as we adore them…also the cottage is not child proof and would not be ideal for a toddler or a crawler. Also, we are unable to host gatherings or parties of any kind.

Guest access

Our guests have use of our Pine Cone Cottage and area immediately surrounding the cottage including the hammock and two adirondack chairs to relax in...

Interaction with guests

We live on the property in the main house and will always have someone here to assist our guests in any way.

We are happy to assist you in finding great hikes, restaurant recommendations, or whatever you need! If you need a beach chair, towel and umbrella we would be happy to share ours.

Other things to note

The price listed of our cottage includes a 10% Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT)...a copy of the Certificate of Authority to Collect Transient Occupancy Tax will be in the cottage in a binder.

As much as we love dogs and cats, we are unable to host them at this time ..Also, we adore children, but our cottage is not child proof…it would be totally easy for a baby who doesn't crawl or walk…we have sea trinkets and sea glass around that could be a danger to a toddler.

We don't have central heat and air but the cottage is roughly 400 sq ft and easily heated with a small space heater provided. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and the main living area has a fan for a warm day....

The kitchen has a small electric apartment type stove but no kitchen fan. There is a window in the kitchen. Our kitchen is great for small meals but not a great kitchen to do heavy stir fry/wokking with oil etc. (because of no fan)

We are only 7 minutes drive to Haskell's Beach (near the Bacara Resort) and that is the best way to cool off!

We have to insist on no smoking of any kind on our property. It is too much of a fire hazard and we love our home and our neighbors too much to risk a fire. Thank you for respecting this! If you choose to disrespect the no smoking rule, you will be charged a $250 extra cleaning fee.

We ask that you not wear shoes in our cottage. There is sap from the pine trees that comes inside and hard to clean.

Also, if you plan to be at our beaches please note that we often have tar on the sand that gets on your shoes and clothing. Please let us know if you encounter tar so we can get you oil and a rag and remove it before you come in house.

Everything was perfect for our short stay. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, coffe and tea selection were very much appreciated. We would have loved to partake in the chilled 805's however our schedule didn't allow but the thought was appreciated! Everything was neat and clean. Loved the granola and almond milk! Would definately like to return someday! Thank you Sheryl.

Hidden gem in a cute, quiet neighbourhood that was easy to get to off highway 101. Bed was the most comfortable bed Ive ever slept in and the room and ammenities were well thought out with lovely special touches. Sheryl is a great host who will go that extra mile for you. Highly recommend

My wife and I only stayed one night at Sheryl's place - we came from LA for a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl - but we absolutely loved the place and enjoyed our short time there. The cottage was super clean, the bed very comfortable, and overall just a perfect space for a couple wanting to enjoy a private little getaway. A couple of beers and frosted glasses in the fridge were a nice touch and an appreciated treat, too! Sheryl was very quick, friendly and detailed in her communication prior to our arrival, and we had no issues checking into the cottage on our own after midnight. We hope to return to Sheryl's place some day!

Amazing little getaway. Really great welcome bits including the best homemade granola ever. Beautifully done, lovely comfy bed, easy to get to Santa Barbara and great hosting with lots of suggestions for us. A lot of thought has gone in to it all - we loved this place.
