Cozy treehouse: sleeping platform (for 2) and tiny woodstove inside; porch and hammock outside. Campfire pit with tripod grill on the riverbank, and place to pitch a tent if there are an extra 1 or 2 people in your group.
No washrooms at the treehouse itself - it is like backcountry camping in that regard, and we ask you to follow the usual guidelines for that. ("How to S**t In The Woods" by Kathleen Meyer is recommended reading! Or look up "cathole".) Also we ask guests to follow the backcountry rules (leave-no-trace camping) in regard to packing out what you bring in, including the little things like bread bag ties and bottle caps. No smoking, of course, on the property at all. Bring your own sleeping bag, and something to do: your knitting, your camera, the book you are writing or reading. Bring a flashlight. Bring any food and water you will need. Remember to store any food inside at night, or when you are gone, in order to discourage raccoons and chipmunks. Do not feed any wildlife, no matter how cute. This is for their own present and future safety.
Absolutely no open candles. It's just too dangerous with all the wood about. Please use the lighting we provide. Also please do not try to cook over the wood stove that is in the treehouse itself. It is astounding how messy that can be. All cooking must be done outside the treehouse.
PETS: Some pets do well here and some do not. It is no place for a cat, for instance, nor for a nervous dog. The first faint coyote howl or owl hoot and neither of you will get any sleep. Laid-back, well-trained dogs, whether big or small, especially those used to camping, love it here. Please ask, when you request to book, if you wish to bring a pet. Of course, we ask you to clean up after them.
CHILDREN: This is a treehouse on a platform 10 feet off the ground and not at all suitable for anyone who might toddle off the edge. Older children who like camping are a perfect fit, but keep in mind the river, the platform height, and the woods setting.

I am a professional actor and copywriter and sparetime weaver. Harry is a professional carpenter and sparetime sailor. We love hiking, canoeing, travelling in general, but also the farm we have lived on for over 35 years. We built the treehouse for ourselves originally, just for fun. Thanks to Airbnb, we find we love sharing it with guests. The stories, the laughs, the connecting - it's the best!
