Beautiful, quiet, scenic place, with all the basic necessities to make your trip comfy, including big island guide book in your room. It is very close to all the waterfalls and only 30 minutes from Hilo. We loved waking up to the sound of roosters in the distance and falling asleep to the sound of birds. You do have to plan ahead and bring groceries from the city as you won't find one close by. Randy had fresh fruits - banana, avocado, lemon, star apples fresh from his garden available for his guests. The kitchen is stocked with basic necessities, and the kitchen lanai has a grill you can use. We went to Hilo farmers market to shop for veggies that we grilled on our last night. Also, come with the mindset of disconnecting yourself from the rest of the world and enjoying the natural beauty around you - no cell service (t-mobile) or cable, and slow internet. Perfect way to unwind and just relax.

Randy and Alison again gave us a wonderful experience in Honomu. The friendly, peaceful rooms and beautiful location made our stay a relaxed retreat. Everything is neat and clean, and all the necessary provisions are available. Randy was kind to accommodate our daughter in a separate room as an unexpected additional guest. The warm, friendly greeting from Randy and Alison made us feel welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely evening with neighbors and other guests around an evening bonfire. What a treat. Thanks again, Randy and Alison!

Randy and Allison are a very nice couple and provided us with everything we needed for a wonderful stay for the week. We arrived very late, around 1am, and there was a nice welcome note when we arrived and a freshly baked cinnamon bun waiting for us in the kitchen. They also provided us with a travel guide and their own summarized binder with lots of great notes to help us along with our trip. They checked in with us often around the property to make sure all was well, and everything was great the whole time. The room was brand new and well-kept. Having a kitchenette (microwave, sink, fridge, cutlery, dishes, coffee machine and coffee) in our room, internet access and Netflix were definitely added bonuses. It was also super handy having access to a washer and dryer in the main area at our disposal allowing for us to pack much lighter than usual. We also borrowed their beach towels which was also one less thing we needed to pack. The washroom was well equipped and shampoo, conditioner and soap were top notch. The view from our patio was exactly as seen from the photo, breath-taking view of the ocean, luscious greens and well kept lawn. We found ourselves hanging out on the patio most mornings with a morning coffee and snacks before starting our day. We enjoyed freshly picked bananas and avocados as well during our stay. The main kitchen is spacious and fully equipped and even a BBQ and additional seating available for all to use. They are located close to a small town and about 25mins away from Hilo. Close to Akaka Falls, Ziplines and Tropical Botanical Gardens. Waipio Valley, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are in the middle of the island so it's a fair drive whether you are staying in the Kona area or Hilo area. The beaches are nicer on the Kona side, but we didn't mind the road trip to the beach before hitting an attraction. Great place to stargaze on a clear sky as well. They offered to setup a big camp fire for us, but we were out enjoying the island being our first trip that we never made it back home till late each night. Great accommodations, amenities and hosts!
