Our comfy Townhome is in the perfect location for seeing the sights of Philly. It features two bedrooms, a gorgeous backyard, dine in kitchen and it is extremely well situated to public transportation. Walking distance from charming Fairmount Street, the 33 bus picks up at the corner of our street, and the nearest subway is a half mile walk.
We have a 4 bedroom 3.5 bathroom Townhome out of which we are listing two bedrooms in two separate listings. There is a lot of room for just us and our pooch Harry!
Our home is accessible to all of Philadelphia's attractions with either a walk, bicycle, or a quick transit ride. Excellent access to the Art Museum, Barnes Museum, Eastern State Penitentiary, Ben Franklin Parkway, Center City, Fairmount Park, and Kelly Drive (perfect for runners on race day!). Additional nearby attractions are Rittenhouse Square, the Philadelphia Zoo, Old City, the Northern Liberties Piazza, and Penns Landing. Note that our home is in the Art Museum/Fairmount/Francisville area of the city. Center City is a quick Uber, 33 bus ride, or a 20 minute walk.
The queen bedroom is brightly decorated with a nail-head feature wall and can sleep two comfortably and the twin bedroom painted a deep green also comfortably sleeps two. There is a full bathroom on the same floor and there is an additional full bathroom on the third floor---both bathrooms are for guests as there is another in the master suite which remains private.
On the guest floor there is a sitting room with cable television and a balcony overlooking the yard. This is for your use during your stay--feel free to peruse Netflix at your leisure!
The large kitchen has recently undergone renovations and is much brighter than pictured...new pictures coming soon! Feel free to use the refrigerator and microwave, but we would prefer our guests not to cook full fledged meals. You are welcome to eat al fresco as well in the urban oasis we've created in our backyard.
*This listing is for the queen guest bedroom. The twin can be reserved from our second listing. If you wish to reserve both rooms please contact us and we can arrange for a discounted rate. Both rooms are equipped with key-locking doorknobs to ensure your safety and privacy.
Guests have access to the living areas, kitchen (microwave, fridge, toaster--we prefer our guests to not cook intensive meals), laundry facilities (washer/dryer), balcony, and backyard. Our master suite and the basement remain private.
Guests will have their own private bathroom either on the guest floor or on the third floor and can utilize the guest floor living room as their own.
Shampoo, conditioner, fresh sheets, and clean towels are offered to our guests. We will restock, wash, and change after your visit.
Interaction with guests
We live here too so we may be around to say hey but mostly we are out and about living our lives! Feel free to chat, hang out or retire at your leisure.
We are always accessible via text or email and can get back to you promptly.
Other things to note
We have a dog that is super duper friendly and he will be here when we are in town. He sleeps with us so he won't be a nuisance at night, but he will be happy to see you and will greet you with a tail wag! We are happy to contain him if you wish, but want our guests to know in case of allergies, fears, etc.
Please treat our home with the respect you would treat a friend's home. Here are some specifics, but mainly use your common sense.
-We don't allow guests to stay over that are not included in your reservation.
-We don't allow parties or smoking inside.
-No additional pets. Sorry, our pooch Harry is enough!
-While we frequently clean, please clean up after yourselves especially when using a shared space like the kitchen, bathroom, living space, and laundry facilities. These are used by other guests and mistreatment would result in a bad experience for them too :(
-Please limit use of kitchen appliances to the microwave and refrigerator. We would prefer our guests not cook full meals when we are not home.
-Feel free to watch TV in the shared living room space, but please don't purchase On Demand programming.
-Please don't remove decor from walls, install your own decor on walls, or take any of our personal possessions from our property.
-Please don't consume food while in bed as this can damage the linens.
-Please don't use massage oils as this also damages linens.
-Please don't light candles as this is a fire hazard, especially if left unattended.
-Rooms are double occupancy only. If you have more than 2 people in your party, please reserve our additional room in another listing.
-Please lock deadbolts of exterior doors upon entering and leaving.
-Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. Please use your best judgement! Chris & I have work schedules to stick to :)
-Please respect our private space which is the basement, our master bedroom, and our office space.
-When you check out, please leave the door open with the key inside the lock--that way we're not intruding on you when we prep for our next guests.
Most importantly have a great and comfortable stay!

Shannon loves running, spinning, lifting (ok sweating), her sweet bearded mutt Harry, and creating--whether it be furniture construction or making pizza she's happiest when working with her hands. Chris is a beer aficionado, golf lover, and endures a sweat session regularly at his local Crossfit gym.
And duh, we both love traveling! So far internationally we've traversed Mexico, England, Germany, Czech, Scotland, Greece, Peru, Australia. In 2013 we made a Eurotrip covering Paris, Amsterdam, London, Brussels & Bruges. In 2015 we honeymooned in Thailand & Cambodia. Last summer we explored Italy. This past spring Spain & Portugal, and on the cusp of fall we checked out Vienna, Budapest, Munich, and Salzburg. We love to research our trips like crazies, make new friends all over the world, and when we come home we like to mark where we've been on our big cork-board map. We're not sure where we're going next but we're already excited for it!
We've used AirBnB both domestically and internationally and we are so grateful for the connections we've made. And now we're hosting out of our own place in our historic city of Philadelphia. We are so excited to return the graciousness of our previous hosts to our future guests.
