About this listing

You'll be in a sunny guest room in a cozy, older house. In Seward you'll be close to the West Bank of the U, the Mississippi, and parks and museums all while staying in a quiet neighborhood. You can basically walk to US Bank Stadium and TCF Field. There's bus access to both downtowns, shopping, and entertainment. There are bikes to borrow and 3 different bike paths within blocks. It's a great spot and I love having guests share my home.

Description

The space

The house was built in 1941 and is in an interesting neighborhood surrounded by identical houses. It's a friendly, quiet neighborhood to stay. It definitely is an older home with some quirks, but it's cozy and lovely.

Guest access

Feel free to use the kitchen or watch some Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Now on the TV in the basement unless there's a guest staying in that room. The grill in the backyard is also good to use! If you need to store a bike while visiting it can get stored in the garage.

Interaction with guests

I work a couple different jobs and also am a performer in the Twin Cities so I'm not around too much. When I am around I love steering people in the direction of something fun or delicious.

The neighbourhood

Walking distance to multiple bus lines and close to the light rail. Only 6 blocks to the Mississippi River where you can walk, run, or bike. You'll be close to the University of Minnesota, museum, parks, shopping and restaurants.
There are a couple of good restaurants (Birchwood, Cafe Racer Kitchen) within walking distance. For the most part the neighborhood is pretty quiet and residential, but a five minute bike ride will take you to anything you'd need.

Getting around

If you're coming with a car, there's plenty of street parking. If not, there are 3 bus routes close by and the lightrail is a quick connection away.
There are two bikes available for guests! The city is exceptionally bike friendly and the greenway is just two blocks away.

Other things to note

The shower turns on by pulling down from the faucet. Don't move the shower head or else the whole bathroom will get wet. :)

Liv's place is great! The location is excellent--took me about 10 minutes to get downtown which is where I had a class. Loads of street parking is available. The neighborhood is a quiet residential. Liv's house is very quaint and cute. The bed was very comfortable, and her two kitties were loves! I only saw Liv briefly but she made sure that I enjoyed my stay. You can't really beat the price, either. As a solo woman traveler I felt exceptionally safe here and would happily stay again.

This is well-situated for bus transport across the Twin Cities (and getting to the light rail) with at least three nice cafes (Cafe Racer Kitchen, the Seward Co-Op, Birchwood) within 5-10 minutes walking distance. The neighbourhood despite having some amenities is quite quiet, but accessible for the university, the river etc and definitely calm and safe. Liv was also a helpful host with good recommendations, and knows a lot about the cultural scene in Minneapolis!

It was another great, comfortable stay at Liv's. Nicest, friendliest cats around.

I'm a big Disney fan. I love doing Disney running events because it gives me an excuse to visit Disneyland or Disney World as well as do a distance run. I work from home as a writer and consultant and also do comedy and acts. I enjoy doing CrossFit, cooking, and museums.
