Across the street from Hukilau Beach Park, less than a one minute walk from your doorstep to the waters edge! This cozy condo is one side of a duplex, and has everything you need for a family on the go, 2 queen beds, a set of bunk beds, full kitchen, beach towels, Wifi and cable TV. Relax on the porch, enjoy the ocean breeze. Laie Falls trail head 1/4 mile from house. Polynesian Cultural Center 1 mile south, and Gunstock Ranch ( horse back riding) and Zip Line 1 mile north. Walk to LDS Temple.

The space

This duplex was built up on pillars so you have the ocean view from your covered porch. A grassy meadow adjoins the property, with a walking path that extends north for about 2 miles. A great place for your morning exercise. Hukilau Beach Park is directly across the street, and many of my guests say it is their favorite beach on the island.

Interaction with guests

Marci and her family live on Laie Point, just across the street from the shopping center. It is just a 5 minute drive if you are in need of assistance.

Clean, well equiped, nice little Condo. Perfect Communication. Very nice beach right across the Street. Since the Condo is just 10m away from the Highway it is extremely loud. No isolation of the Condo and no aircondition, so it is extremely hot and muggy. For that it is too expensive. I would not choose it again even if it is much cheaper, due to the points mentioned above.

Response from Marci:
Unfortunately, we had a real heat wave during this visit. Most of the time the ocean breeze is enough to make things very pleasant. We are interviewing AC companies to install air conditioning.

Marci was an awesome host. We had minor issues at check-in and he addressed them right away which made me feel super good as a guest. We live on the island but had a competition at Polynesian Cultural Center, we got there in about five minutes. We had a lot of fun being so close to the beach and to food. We really appreciated Marci's response time to us though, made our entire trip enjoyable.

Great location on the North Shore, just steps away from Hukilau Beach which has calm water and is not crowded. Parking at the house was easy. Two beach chairs and an umbrella available for use. Plenty of dishes, towels, and mirrors. We had four adults staying here and I definitely would not recommend having more. The space is quite small, but the beds are comfortable and the place is really clean. There are two units in this house; we stayed in unit B. There is a washer and dryer, but it is coin-op and shared between four units, so it can be tricky to use. Marci is a great host who answers questions promptly. I would stay in one of her places again.

Marci was a great host. Her place was very clean. We loved the location as it is right in front of the beach and it is also an easy walk to the shopping center. I would love to rent from her again.

Great home in a good location. The listing has this place under a 'entire home', it isn't. While yes, there is everything you need to live, the place the smaller of 2 units on the same floor. Parking was an issue at times. Look at my other rating for details.

The most important thing to know is that this place is on the windward side of Oahu. Perhaps it was windier than usual during our visit (although a local I spoke to said it was about the same as usual), but wind was our constant companion. There is a nice beach across the street, but between the wind and the rain during our visit, I never felt like sunbathing on it. We found that the weather was consistently nicer on the southern and western sides, so with a little driving, you can find an uncrowded beach that's more weather-friendly. The unit was neat and clean, and the beds were comfortable. It's out in the country so we had intermittent issues with the Internet and cable, but wifi worked all the time and Marci was very responsive and got the other services working for us. Most tourist places are quite a drive depending on what you want to see, and given the two-lane roads it will take you a while to get there. The Polynesian Cultural Center is within a mile. Count on an hour to get to most other sights. I chose Marci's place because I wasn't interested in a lot of tourist destinations, having been to Oahu several times before, and I wanted to do a lot of walking without risking life and limb to walk along the highway's narrow shoulder. There's a nice 1.5-mile walking/bicycle trail at the doorstep and other walks and hikes right behind the house. A rental car is a must, and the car gave us the opportunity to explore the island and see places I'd never been before.

I love the warm weather and the freedom to go without shoes! I love to swim and spend time with my family. Mango's are one of my favorite fruits, and fresh coconut water, right off the tree! Hoping to go to Italy some day.
