An authentic Japanese experience!

In the hustle and bustle of the Tokyo megalopolis, you can experience the local life yet be only 5 kilometers from the entertainment capital of Shibuya!

Samurai Apartment is located in the Setagaya district of Tokyo. It is a charming residential area yet still only about 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from Shibuya. And there are transportations late enough at night to come back home!!

Samurai Apartment is quite large - as Tokyo apartments go. It is 30 square meters (323 square feet) with a separate bedroom, separate living room, separate kitchen, bathroom and veranda - plenty of space for you to kick back and relax! The entire apartment is available for your private use!

Samurai Apartment is a traditional Japanese apartment with a tatami room and authentic Japanese interior with a "tokonoma" and classic wood trimmings. The furnishings are fitted in a "Japanese-modern" style (or "Wa" modern in Japanese).

A good night's sleep is so important to feeling fresh and energetic during your special time in Tokyo. Accordingly, I've provided a proper queen size bed with a comfortable mattress size of 2 meters x 1.6 meters (6.6 feet x 5.2 feet). Together with the mattress protector the thickness of the mattress alone is about 30 cm.

And also a single Futon, Japanese style mattress, is available for the third person.

If you make a reservation and it is accepted, detailed instructions on how to get to Samurai Apartment will be sent to your email address by me.

*************** Note **************************
Samurai Apartment is on the 5th Floor of the building and there is NO elevator access. However, this is the most popular apartment in the building as it's on the penthouse floor, has a bright sunny and beautiful view of the city below. Given this, I've never had any complaints from my previous tenants and guests about having to access the room via the stairs. In addition, for an earthquake prone country like Japan, stairs are a safer option! (Usually, elevators are automatically halted in the event of a large earthquake meaning that in the worst case scenario, people will have to wait for a short while in the elevators until operation is resumed).

1. When in Japan, do as the Japanese do - please take your shoes off at the entrance!

2. No smoking indoors (but on the verandah is fine!).

3. Garbage separation rules - details are provided in the guidebook, but for environmental reasons, please help by separating out recyclable, combustible and non-combustible waste. I would really, really appreciate your help with this as it is quite an important issue in Japan : )

4. No loud noises before 9am and after 8pm.

5. People other than those in the Guest party may not stay overnight in the property unless they properly book through AirBnB. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of the guest.

6. The owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. Nor is the owner responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

7. The Golden Rule! This apartment is in no way a hotel or the like. And as this normally is private home, I kindly request guests to treat the place well and respect it as if it was their own home. Any damage should be reported at the time it happens and not after departure.

Other than the above - please enjoy!

Good accommodation (I liked the bedroom and the bed is especially comfy), location is OK and there's a convenience store, bakeries and a supermarket nearby. Good host who puts much effort in providing useful documentation about places to visit, restaurants, etc.

The apartment was really nice and very clean, with cooking amenities. It is not in the centre of Tokyo, but rather on the outskirts. However, this meant that it was not too loud or noisy and was only a short bus or train ride to Shibuya. I really enjoyed my stay in this apartment, and Meg was a brilliant host providing tips about restaurants and attractions in the surrounding area and Tokyo.

Place is very clean and tidy! Meg is very organized with additional maps and information for things to do around Tokyo in a folder to look through at the apartment. The portable wifi device is very convenient if you don't have a phone plan or SIM card for Japan. I would've definitely used that every time I went out, but I got a phone plan so it wasn't necessary for me. I really liked the bonus of being able to watch Netflix (if you have an account already to sign in) at night when we were done exploring for the day. The wifi was really good at the apartment! Meg is also very good at responding and answering any questions! I would definitely rent from one of her locations again in the future if I'm lucky enough!

Meg's space is wonderful. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had a more classic feel I really enjoyed. However, there is no elevator so if you cannot walk well, you may want to look elsewhere as it's on the 5th floor. Otherwise it was fantastic! Thanks again!
