Our focus: provide every guest with the three most important things that we look for in our Airbnb travels; cleanliness, comfort, and convenience. This fully equipped private apartment is 20 MIN FROM 4 OF UTAH’S GREATEST SKI RESORTS and from downtown SLC, 10 min from the South Towne Expo Centre and Real Salt Lake Stadium, and 5 min from Wasatch Mountain hiking/biking trails and a wide variety of shopping and dining. A 95-point checklist is used to clean to the highest standards for every stay.
As Airbnb travelers ourselves we know what makes the difference between a positive experience and a gross one. We call them the three C’s: Cleanliness, Comfort, and Convenience.
CONVENIENCE (Outdoors, city conveniences, and/or convention? It doesn’t get better than this.)
SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING!!! Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, and Solitude are less than 20 minutes away; Park City, Canyons, and Sundance are 45 minutes; and Snowbasin and Powder Mountain are an hour.
We are minutes from all that Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains have to offer. We are literally 5 min from Wasatch Mountain hiking/biking trails and a wide variety of shopping and dining. My favorite exercise is a trail run in the mountains after work. We’ve got several shopping centers with grocery, restaurants, ski rental shops, and coffee shops within blocks of the house. If you’re like most of our guests, you’ll be happy to know that Trader Joe’s is also just 5 minutes away. Movie theaters too.
The Real Salt Lake Stadium, new Hale Center Theater, and the South Towne Expo Centre (for those coming for conventions) are 10 minutes away. Downtown SLC and all that it has to offer (Utah Jazz, U of U, City Creek Center, Salt Palace, Temple Square) is a 20-minute drive.
For your down days when you’re relaxing from your adventures but still want to get outside, one of the city’s greatest parks is a block away. It offers baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, an amazing sledding hill, running trails, green space, play structures and pavilions.
CLEANLINESS (As in, cleaner than your last stay at a hotel)
You might say that we are obsessive compulsive about clean. We created a 95-point checklist for our cleaners and we personally inspect that each item has been done prior to each stay (see photos for the full checklist). Some examples of how we go the extra mile prior to every stay for you include; washing the shower curtain and bath mats, vacuuming or mopping every square inch of flooring (not just spot cleaning), using sanitizable bed and pillow covers under fresh linens, and sanitizing all surfaces, door knobs, cabinet knobs, and light switches. Everything in the apartment from furnishings to linens was purchased specifically for it to be used as a vacation rental; no using Grandma’s hand me down bath towel here.
COMFORT (Our goal is to make Sandy feel like home)
This is a 1400 square foot, private basement apartment equipped with your comfort in mind. We love to recommend our favorite outdoor adventures and eateries in the area so you get the hometown experience. Then when you come home you can grab a book or board game from the library and sit next to the warmth of the fireplace or relax on the couch in front of one of the two flat screen TVs with cable.
If you like staying in to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped with a full sized stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal, toaster, Keurig coffee machine, blender, cook ware, and dining sets. The apartment includes a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. If we haven’t thought of something that you need, our front door is just 20 steps away, so we’ll bring it over to you.
The open concept floor plan in the great room accommodates quality family or socializing time while the bedroom and library provide privacy from the rest of your group when desired. (The library is considered the second bedroom and entry into and out of the apartment is through the library.) Central air keeps the apartment nice and cool in the summer and a toasty gas fire place keeps the entire space cozy in the winter. Daylight windows (no window well) keep the space bright and feeling like main floor living.
Two off-street parking spots will be made available on the side driveway to the house. The entry to the apartment is down a covered stairway from the side driveway. Accommodations for bike and ski storage during your stay can be made in the garage off the side driveway.
FYI - Our family lives on the main floor and second story of the home. The apartment is completely private from the main floor with a private entrance from the exterior of the home, but you will hear the occasional noise from our children.
Guests will be provided a key to the apartment to come and go as they please.
Interaction with guests
We will meet guests on the day of arrival and get you oriented to the space and area. We will be available to answer any questions you may have. Other than that we'll stay out of your hair.
Other things to note
Pets are not allowed on the premises.
-Please treat the apartment like you would your own home.
-At least one of the guests in your party must be over the age of 30.
-No smoking on the premises.
-No pets on the premises.
We love Utah living for the safe family friendly atmosphere, it's four distinct seasons, and access to outdoor recreation. We love taking the family out for a hike or quick over-nighter in the mountains. We love to travel to new places, and do our best to live life like it's an adventure.
