The location simply can't be beat. It is central in the finest neighborhood of Reykjavík, quiet and cozy but just a few minutes' walk from everything there is. It is close to restaurants, swimming pools and the harbour. The bedroom is small but cozy.
The entrance to the listing is BEHIND the house with the street number label. Remember to walk towards the backyard and down a few steps to the door with one single black key-box next to it (you will receive the pin when you confirm your reservation). Please note: The color of my house is WHITE - the housnumber is 23A (not 23)!
The apartment has a nice little kitchen and it's great to make coffee in the mornings and sit at the little kitchen table. Shared apartment with 3 separate units that has a common kitchen and bathroom/shower. The apartment is small but cozy.
Shower (through the laundry room), wc and a well equiped kitchen.
Interaction with guests
I am happy to provide information during your stay. I live upstairs. Please send me an email or an sms if you need something.
Other things to note
FLYBUS and PICKUP:
If you take the bus from the airport, you can specify that you want to get off at the Guesthouse Tungata 32, AR Guesthouse or Hotel Hilda (if you come with the Grayline bus company (airport express). My house is located steps away from the Guesthouse Tungata 32 and Hotel Hilda.
Hotel Hilda is also where you can get picked up again when it is time to leave. Both AR Guesthouse and Hotel Hilda are handy pickup location if you book a bus tour or other adventure, as they are very close by.
If you choose the bus company called "Flybus" you can get off the BSI bus station. If you get off at BSI bus station, I recommend taking the taxi from the station to our house. There is a taxi stand outside the terminal and the cost from there is about 11-13 USD or 10-14 euros. If you want to walk from there to my house, it takes 20-30 minutes.
It is very easy to find parking near the house, for exemple in the street Tungata but please note:
Do not park in front of the house because of the fire hydrant (water hydrant)! The police could fine you!
And: please NEVER park in the alleyway between my house and the black house - as it is limited to my neighbours (they use it to access their parking).
The house is old: it was built in 1927 and it is located in the center of Reykjavík.
Kitchen is small but well equipped but no microwave and no dishwasher. There is a small round table with two chairs in the kitchen. Bathroom is through the laundry room.
Reasonable and respectful. Clean the kitchen after use.
