Charmingly basic. This is a place to renew your creative sense of self.
No Television, No Distractions.
At the end of a private road. Surrounded by nature. Ponds and water fowl stop by, butterflies and birds abound. Fishing poles available. Picnic.
Be inspired with art supplies. Lawn/Board games/Puzzles anyone?

Artfarmfennville our neighboring artist community hosts readings, art gallery events throughout the summer months in a nearby barn and metal arts studio. Perfect 4 portfolio building.

The space

Walk the property and enjoy the birds and water fowl that take flight from the ponds. Sculpture through out grounds, as the barn is a working art space. This is a quiet rural backdrop. Non smoking living space surrounded by mother nature. The term Glamping comes to mind. Wide plank pine floors throughout. Kitchen equipped with a Vitamix, bbq, coffee grinder, french press pot, electric tea pot and a pantry for cooks -replace what you might use: olive oils, vinegars, mustard and the basics for cooking available.

Guest access

Circular driveway for easy access and parking. You'll find the cabin at the end of the long private driveway. Dark at night, if you plan to explore don't forget a headlamp, otherwise you'll depend upon the fireflies to light your way.

Interaction with guests

Typically available in person, or by a quick txt or phone conversation. You'll have a local contact just in case.

Other things to note

Setting is in proximity to barns and farm storage sheds. Mice and gophers seek refuge when the seasons change. No refunds or cancellations will be allowed due to bad weather, power outages, act's of nature, sightings of insects, rodents or other animals in or around the property. This is a rural setting. Mice get into the cabin, bugs breach screens. Seasonally mosquitoes may wreck havock with your outdoor plans. Fireflies may deem too bright in June, loud bullfrogs in July. Yes we see spiders. Ditto on snakes. There is bugspray in the bathroom cabinet.

We've had a country music experience with the tractor driving farmer next door running over our internet connection this summer, repairs currently a band-aid until new cable so don't expect wicked fast connectivity.

Treat it as it were your own. Keep foodstuffs and snacks in the pantry please. Load any dishes into dishwasher, please strip beds when departing and leave at foot of laundry. Fold and replace any blankets. A general tidy much like you found it is appreciated. Close windows, make sure doors close behind you. Electric teapot sometimes sticks needs a nudge off. Enjoy the space, it's a working art project. We'd like to invite you back. You'll want to share the experience and we'd like it to be a memorable one. Thank you for being adventurous. We like that too.
...lastly Thank you for not smoking. Christine

p.s. Pets.. We love furry family members as much as you do, but we've had a few visits with pets go sideways. Howling from the crate after hours, a sign of bad pet parenting.. If you bring your dog along, please practice proper pet parenting. Chewed up rugs, furniture.. we're at the limit with past bad experiences.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - Stairs from basement to kitchen if entering thru garage. Rough terrain on parts of the farm, please ask before exploring

My family and I loved Christine's place. She provided everything we needed. We loved the cabin's artistic flair. We also liked that it was off the beaten path. Our dog loved it too. Highly recommend. Hope to stay there again.

Christine place was better then expected. Nature, art work, fire pit, situated in a peaceful wood between the two ponds - much better then images on web page could express. And Christine was a great host - unforgettable experience.

Christine's cabin is nestled among wild gardens and trees surrounded by acres of relaxing, peaceful countryside, sprinkled with art, and sculptures. The cabin itself is a comfy, cozy 3 bedroom artistically decorated space. The kitchen is large with a picture overlooking a wild garden. There are your typical essentials for cooking. Christine had left us some of her coffee that she roasts herself and it is AWESOME! There is no TV, however, the WiFi connection works fine if one needs it. We enjoyed the silence. The location is central to any of the nearby towns : Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and attractions, art galleries, Cranes orchard, Oxbow art school, the Dune rides, the Ducks rides. The interurban will pick you up in front of the cottage and for a dollar pp will take you where ever you need to go in Sagutuck township. I would recommend this if your planning to go to Sagutuck since parking there is unbelievably crowded. There are many wonderful restaurants in the ares. We enjoyed GROW in Saugutuck for their carrot cake pancakes and mitten salad. Root coffee shop in Fennville, they have a lovely shop connected to them with local art for sale, and Salt of the Earth, the S'Mores dessert is delish. Most restaurants have the farm to table philosophy so I don't think you could go wrong with any of the places to eat, we just couldn't get to all of them! Douglas has many wonderful galleries not to be missed and isn't as crowded as Sagutuck. Christine was easy to work with and is available as needed during your stay with advice on things to do and events upcoming. Do miss staying here It is a unique treasure.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Christine's cabin. The property is unique and beautiful. The cabin is perfectly rustic with big, beautiful windows with gorgeous views of the wildflowers and pond. We thought the location was really convenient -- we were about 1 0-minute drive from everything. We loved it! Next time we'll bring the kids.

If you are looking for a quiet weekend away or a place to be artistic, this is the perfect cabin for you. The property has everything that you will need to enjoy nature and escape the city. There is so much to do on the property. We only stayed for two days, but wish we stayed longer. We can't wait to come back!

This is a fantastic treasure of a cabin! The kitchen is perfect for making a dinner in. I was able to enjoy the peaceful property and wildlife while drinking coffee on one of the two patios. I would highly recommend this airbnb to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a beautiful area surrounded by an extensive art community.
