Thanks for the feedback Pablo. The trains run a little slower during the holiday season and late at night. I am sorry that you experienced some slower running times or waits. I did express to you that the C train (which your family chose to take because it is a 2 min walk) is a local line - it takes a little longer and comes only every 10 min. According to (Hidden by Airbnb) maps during working hours, the C is a 33 min trip from our front door to downtown West Village at W 4th. But if one is taking the C from our home to uptown (Eg. Central Park), then yes, the total trip door to door is typically closer to 45 min, during working hours. It's also worth noting that it takes the same amount of time travel from all the way uptown to downtown, just within Manhattan. In terms of pure distance, we are 4 miles to Manhattan (the same distance as going from about 96th St to W 4th within the city). For a wider range of trains, including express lines, Broadway Junction is the stop to use. It has the A, C, L, J, Z lines, and is only about a 7 minute walk. During business hours the trains there (like the A and L) run about every 2-3 min vs. the C which runs every 10.
