Cozy log cabin located right at the entrance of Rondane National Park. Excellent location for mountain hiking and family trips by foot or on bicycle. Enjoy an authentic lifestyle surrounded by stunning nature.

The space

The location right at the foot of the Rondane mountain plateau makes it the ideal starting point for mountain hikes. Day trips to any summit in Rondane. The area also offers great opportunities for hiking with children. This is about as close to nature as you can get!

Interaction with guests

The cabin has a fireplace, a firewood oven and a gas heater. We will be happy to show you how to use all of these for heating and comfort.

Other things to note

The facilities are those typical for a traditional Norwegian mountain cabin: fireplace, gas stove for cooking, outhouse toilet and solar cell power for light and charging cell phones etc. It has a wood fired oven and a gas heater. We will provide water for drinking and washing.

We can't fault Barbro, really helpful and responsive! We had a little trouble finding the cabin, but once we'd arrived it was wonderful! A typical Norwegian cabin, wood burning fire, cosy atmosphere and a perfect location to explore the national park!

Barbro's cabin is in a fantastic location. There's a short hike to the waterfall, we were lucky to be able to do on the evening we arrived and it was beautiful. It is also a walk to the Lake and is in a great location for hikes up the mountains and bike rental. The cabin itself has everything you could need. We absolutely loved our stay here and would reccommend to anyone visitng the national park.

This place is unbelievable, the location is absolutely stunning. Wherever you look the views are more beautiful than any postcard. The cabin is very charming with comfortable beds and nice areas for simple dining and board games/reading etc. Probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at.

I stayed here with my partner after just under a week camping, and hiking in Rondane. It really is right around the corner. Barbro was super helpful and responsive regarding directions to the cabin, and any questions we had about the space. It was exactly as advertised, and genuinely exceptionally cozy with a fire on in the stove. We had five days there, and easily went on day walks, which were very well mapped in the surrounding roads. The cabin also has a collection of maps for the national park, for any other hikers. Hopefully, you're up for quite a primitive way of living, as it really is cut off from electricity, running water, etc. But, it's definitely worth it! Thanks Barbro xx

If you want to see how it is to live right at the heart of norwegian desolate landscape without trees and with breathtaking views then choose this beautiful cabin! Less touristic than any other popular destinations in Norway. Lots of space for yourselves! Great experience living in the wild! Cold? There is a huge fireplace in the cabin to warm yourselves up. The cabin itself is spacious and very cosy, but mind that there is no shower or bathroom here, and water is only in the water tanks: this is the place for those who really like living without luxuries.
